hi all im not an impatient person(or i dont think i am) but it dont arf take ages to get someone to have a good chat to on sh chat room have any of you successfully met peeps from actually getting to know them from the chat room?

I went into the chatroom for the first time in ages yesterday. Ended up in a good banter with a couple of people. So it can be done. If you get to "know" someone and want a less hectic chat with them you can always ask to take it to pvt.. the little box thingy. They can refuse, as you can, but sometimes people haven't the inclination or time to step out of the chatroom for a pvt chat. Just enjoy the banter you get and anything else is a bonus...
I presume you mean the midlands munch which is next February, you have already joined the forum before the cut off date, just keep yourself posting and you should be fine. If in doubt pm the munch organiser to clarify.

You do know that "verification" is a dirty word around here, especially in the chatroom......... don't ask why, please don't :shock: :shock: :shock:
What you mean is that you need someone to vouch that you are a genuine person........... well, back to your original point of it taking a long time to meet people in RL....... how long is a piece of string.......... can take hours, days, weeks, or months, depending on lots of factors...............
I think I can safely say that lots of people have met in RL from the chatroom.... or else all those chatroom people at munches have been imposers from some strange parallel universe :shock:

And here's another top tip! You see that little oblongy whitish buttony type of thing... yep... over there in the top right of every entry.. the one with "quote" written upon it....
well.... it saves you having to copy and paste... just give it a try.... go on... ya know you want to...
You can even quote other people... and as it's "241" day... you can edit any mistakes you make with the ... snappily titled.. "edit" button !!! ( and as a bonus.. that stops freckledbird from kicking your shins...

Depends whether you want to chat on the main room or have a PM/PVT with someone. I generally go for the Pm/PVT as I can chat about anything in private and I have some really good chats.
Not met anyone but they get to know you.
Sometimes find it hard to follow the main room as it can get really busy and fast.
Also if you want to attract a particular kind of roomie to chat to then change your nick just for that session
