Hi all,
We have searched the profiles many times, and unfortunately, it seems most of the results are of inactive profiles.
May we propose that any profile which has been inactive for more than 3 months be removed from the site.
Cheers

Hi ave & Anna
The profiles are left for many reasons even if it can be irritating at times.
People take a break from swinging for many reasons, long holidays, change of job, relationships, pregnancy, or even having no baby sitters.
We also don't know if a person is wandering the site without logging in, waiting for some time when they see something that interest them or they have time to join in.
It would be wrong for anyone to say that people can not come back to the site after a few months break. It certainly would be wrong of SH to close down an account when a person might have paid for a full year or are even playing monthly on a direct debit.
I hope that explains things a little dunno
It's not as annoying as being viewed by a profile that's blatantly been set up as a ghost account but it's so obvious who that person is - pathetic rolleyes
Being forever the cynic....they will not be removed as the figures over there>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
would be far less than that. That would not be good for new business.
I would love to know what percentage of that figure to the right, have NOT logged in for over a year at the very least. As a betting man I would say 65%.
There lies your answer.
Could it not say on the profile or search exactly how long it has been since last login instead of just saying not seen in last 2 weeks so that we have an idea of if a user is inactive rather or just taking a 2 week holiday??
Or would it be possible to have an option on the search to search only for profiles which have only been used in the last 2 weeks (a bit like the option of search only profiles with pictures)?????
Hi again,
Thanks for responding.
Would it be possible to archive a profile which has been inactive for 3 months, and re enable it when the owner next logs in?
It just wastes so much time trolling through so many profiles with "Last seen more than two weeks ago".
Cheers
Dave & Anna
^^ good idea
A site I have used before did something similar and after a month of not logging on your profile would not be searchable but when you re logged on again it would become active again
Hmmm, I'd never thought about the archiving idea.
It may be worth discussing with the powers that be.
Cheers!
Even if a user hasn't been on the site for a while they can still get an email notification if you PM them, so don't write off all the inactive profiles until you've tried contacting them. ;-)

Cubes..... there is no logic in that one.
If someone has not logged on for over say three months, then they are not likely to log on for another three months. Hence what is the point in sending an e mail to someone like that ? Having an e mail there is only worthwhile if they are going to log in to read it.
I really really cannot believe for a second that those figures on the right, are anywhere near correct.
I know a lot of people do not use the forums or the chat, but I remember not that long ago that it hit the million member mark. Since then there apparently have been a further joined the site, and I have seen no rise in forum posts or chat room members, than say a year ago.
Cynical me??.never. wink

 for that idea.....seems to be a good compromise between the 2

What I meant was that you can set up your profile so it sends you an email (to your registered email account) whenever you get a PM. Yes, they may not have signed on for three months, but that could be because nobody's PM'd them. dunno
Anyway, no use asking me.... I can't stay off here for more than a couple of hours! ;-)

I like that idea as well.....
As I am embarking on Vanillaship(is that a word ?) my profile may well become a dormant one but I dont see why I should just delete it because my current status is not a swinging one dunno
To archive the profile would always leave the door ajar for me (or anyone else for that matter) to return if things dont work out

This sounds like a good way to waste lots of time and effort. Since the last set of changes, not only can you not tell the difference between a member who is taking a short break and one who gave up 5 years ago, you also can't tell whether the member is a not a full member - and, therefore, can't reply to your PM anyway!
You used to be able to filter your search to show only full members and the profile showed the actual time since they last logged on.
There is presumably some logical reason why these apparently worse changes were introduced, but I can't work it out.
