firstly i would like to say this isnt sour grapes and im not afta attention, i would just like to know if most people realise what this site is for. ive arranged a few meets and they fell through and i was wondering y? it seems to me that a lot of people like the thought of swinging but not the act itself. i myself have a partner and swing because i enjoy the interaction and of course the no strings sex. im not sure if its my profile or my pics but any tips 2 help would be most appreciated. thanks

well you've put effort into your profile (unlike some) ,but your probably correct in your statement saying lots like to be associated with the swinging scene but when it comes to the actual meet / playing they are not as forth they will take up your valuable time in chatrooms , texts & phone calls but when it comes to the meet possibly having to put themselves out a little, the excuses come. if you look at any site and work on about 10% of the members are up for a real meet and 90% are happy doing "cyber meets".it should ease your mind and put an end to pulling ones hair out.
maybe read more forums and browse the chatrooms and you should get a better feel who's here for what and concentrate your efforts on them.
another way to meet peeps is pop along to a local munch and get noticed there,
anyway good luck in your search, it will happen, but don't expect it to happen right away.

There are also some very genuine people out there, i have been dogging and swinging for about four year now and have meet some really genuine lovely couples in my area and also from this site in my short time i have been on the scene.
Yes i have been very lucky in meeting some great couple, and a lot of people how know me would say i have a lot of meet but i think that down to me taking the time to get to know them first and being honest with them from the start as i am not after a quick shag i am after a frienship as well as i like to meet up with them again ie pop around there house for a natter and a coffee.
i also think it help to try and get involved in the forums and chatrooms so people can get to know you.
There will always be people that let you down for what ever reason but that the name of the game, it has happend to me no end of the time and will for many more people on here.
from a single guys point of view there are not that many couple to choose from compared to the single guy so we have to stand out from all the rest and thats the same for everyone ie couple single females and a like.
So dont give up hope it will happen it just take time for people to get to know you and then you will have loads of fun trust me.

We're one of the couples on the site that's genuinely looking to meet up. We've had some wonderful meets since we originally joined the site mid-2004 with numerous couples and single males & females, but, lately, things seem a wee bit different.
In our recent quest for single males, we've had hundreds of replies, but, of those we've pursued further, only 1 out of 3 have actually shown up to a scheduled meet!
I'm beginning to wonder if you're right that the they're into the fantasy of swinging, but not prepared to make it a reality. 
I'll be totally honest, we're primarily here for the sex. While we do thoroughly enjoy the social side of swinging and have made some wonderful, lasting friendships through the lifestyle, we wouldn't be here in the first place if it weren't for the sexual encounters.
At the moment, however, it's just our positive past experiences that are keeping us going. Swinging is a reality, and this site really does work...but the amount of cold feet we've encountered lately (unfortunately, not in bed) has been a disappointment.
I joined SH with intention of meeting fems and couples but after several months on here I have only had one meet for "nsa sex" and no other "success"
Don't get me wrong, I love coming on here to postr on the forums and go into the chatrooms but it would be nice to get few more "meets", "under my belt" as it were.
I have during my membership here posted several "ads in the "Lets meet up" section but as I say only had one "real" meet.
I guess the way to go about it is to keep trying and sometime or another you'll suceed.
