dek has just bought a bike of ebay and the bloke bought it to his house on saturday and dek paid the man cash for it cool
so i logs on to ebay this morning to find an unpiad item dispute on the bike wtf? dunno (which wasnt there last night so the man has obviously just reported it unpaid this morning)i replyed to ebay saying we have paid and then sent the bloke an email saying wtf is the unpaid dispute about and have not heard anything as yet
im confused now as dek has the bike in his possession and all the log books etc confused: :?:
now to explain a little more..... when the bike was for sale on ebay dek bid £2800 and didnt meet the reserve and didnt bid any higher, later that day there was a second chance offer off this bloke with a buy it now price of £2800 which was deks highest bid. so he went to see the bike and fell in love with the bike and went away to sort the money out (the man wanted cash) and insurance etc
So on saturday the man bought the bike to dek when it came to handing the cash over dek gave him the £2800 and the man said it isnt enough i need the reserve which was £3000 to this dek answered i dont have an extra £200 i bid £2800 which is all i could afford the bloke then says well i cant let the bike go for that price its worth much more, as dek had sorted insurance out and has fallen in love with the bike he offered the bloke £50 quid extra which was all he had in his wallet with this the man hummed n harred before finally accepting £2850 and went away
so now on ebay we have this unpaid item dispute over the bike which is a bit worrying as the man knows where he dropped the bike of at and all derek has to proove he paid for the bike is the fact he look £2800 in cash out of the bank and obviously has the bike and log books
so im starting to think its some sort of scam
any advice weould be gratefully received

thanks tan x
the sale was agreed at £2800....simple as that, the fact he gave the guy an extra £50...was no more than a gesture...sounds to me he is more than likely complaining about the £150 difference..but ebay records will show that the second chance offer will be £2800.....wether the reserve price was £3000 or not!...to be honest i would have told him were to go!
They may be saying it's unpaid because that way they won't have to pay their Ebay fees. Which on an item sale of £2800 will be quite a lot.
Just a maybe of course.
Did he not get a receipt ?
Check to see if the bike is stolen ASAP...
*nice 4x4 by the way* ;-)

Indeed....
Complain to Ebay that he is trying to evade paying the commision on the sale and see how he likes that ..
No worries there mate...
This aint no scam...
Very possible the disgruntled eBaYer felt miffed at not getting the xtra cash out of you
I remember buying an Alfa GTV as a doner for a kit car I was building... paid £100 for the car only for the owner to turn up later all dressed up suited n booted for his night out!
The cheeky sod reckoned he sold the car to me far too cheap & he wanted an xtra £75!!! I pointed him to a pile of bits in the garage & told the fooker to take the car back mad
That eBayer is just trying to pull a fast one on you! Mention the cash exchange in your feedback & the fact he had no dispute with you at the time of exchange!
Ive bought 5 vehicles so far on ebay... an HPI check IS mandatory!
did you not get a reciept for the cash when you handed it over ?

nope dek didnt, silly man

my sentiments exactly i couldnt understand him giving the extra 50 quid

i replyed to the unpaid dispute saying the man had got the cash and extra on saturday am still waiting for an answer of them
thanks for the advice i will get dek to check the bike as son as he gets back to make sure its not stolen
From eBay's viewpoint, I'd presume it's also going to depend on the payment methods he quoted in his advert.
They say cash isn't recommended in their help screens (which I realise isn't much help to you either at this stage).
I'd think if someone at eBay has any common sense, they'd realise you couldn't have duped the bloke if you have the paperwork that goes with the bike. That's your main proof that he must have been satisfied with the transaction otherwise he wouldn't have handed it over.

gold star for miss kiss you were spot on,
deks just been in touch with the bloke to ask wtf is going on, the bloke said" i told ebay you didnt like the bike so didnt buy it so i didnt have to pay the £50fees for selling it (which is bad enough considering the amount of cash he has just been given) just say you didnt like the bike and it will be ok"
the cheeky swine of course i wont tell ebay that
derek then said to late our lass already told em we've paid
cant beleive the cheek of this bloke i mean surely if he wanted us to say that maybe he should of got in touch with us first to ask if this was ok but i certainly wont lie for this man even if it does mean gettin a strike on my ebay account

cheeky bastard....well he can use that extra £50....he shouldn't have got to pay the charges!
Yes he's got a cheek after asking for extra to cover them, this isn't that bad but you would have thought he would have ok'd it with him before doing it, tell ebay he asked you for extra for the fee's as you aren't suppossed to do that with customers either, not only did he have the cheek to try and dodge the fees he actualy got dek to pay for them or nearly as the fees with probably be £60+
I've been asked to do the same thing by others & the ebay fee has been split between the seller & myself
(Hey I may be a good guy but a drink is a drink!)
Why couldn't the fool just be up front & do the same with you?
You wont get a strike as such but just a negative comment to which you can add your own mutual negative comment.
So much crap would have been avoided if he was upfront with you in the first place!
I think if you aquire 3 or more unpaid item disputes against you, they cancel/freeze your account.

the man said nothing to us about paying the fees until today when he said they came to £50 i have wrote a nice email to ebay explaining what this man said to us today and expalined he asked for more cash wen it came to money changing hands and also sent a copy of deks bank statement to proove th cash went out of his account
he never actually asked us for the fee money derek gave him £50 as that was all he had on him the man actually wanted another £200 not £50

yep maybe if he had asked us in the first place to cover his scam we could of arranged something but to leave us in the dark for us to find an unpaid item dispute of course im guna get on my high horse and complain to ebay

thanks miss kiss will bear that in mind im just so mad about this
Sorry I meant Neutral feedback... Not Negative!
From past experience- just don't get your hopes up that ebay will be at all helpful confused
We bought a DVD from a private seller. When it arrived it was a very nasty copy which wouldn't even play. We got a refund from paypal, communicated with the seller & left her negative feedback. In return, she left us feedback just saying "bad buyer" & spent weeks trying to intimidate us into retracting her bad feedback. She has been reported to ebay for copyright fraud, and even though she's admitted this (and changed her account) they say they cannot remove the negative feedback she left us.
Can't, or won't?
the bike looks great and you have got it dirt cheap, just get a report on the bike make syre not stolen or been in a smash

thanks for that the bike hardly has a mark on it and in great condition as its 5 years old and yes we did get it dirt cheap i realise we got a bargain it wasnt the price that got me so angry it was the pure cheek of this man expecting more money then saying we hadnt paid

They'll remove it, but you have to pay for it.
I rarely use Ebay anymore, they're the biggest scammers on the whole site evil

yup agree with you there although we have had quite a few bargains over the last few years, hes just been out on the bike said it rides like a dream cool my turn my turn now yippeeee
the dispute has now been closed by ebay, the man told them he didnt think derek would come back with the cash and that was why he opened the dispute
(why was the dispute opened after we had paid and derek had the bike then????)
