It's never happened before, but today within a few minutes of each other I received 2 PMs from two different newbies, here's how the conversations have gone so far;

So, is it my new avatar, or something else? Are these the chancers that I keep hearing about or are these people really interested in becoming my friends and buying me drinks and sending me Christmas cards and stuff?
Oh, and should I tell the first guy that I'm not actually a fem?

In this case, I'd say, "Yes"
I think people should think about their nic-name and avatar, from a readers view point.
In a lot of cases it is very difficult to know from the nic-name and/or the avatar the gender of the contributor.
Checking the profile in many cases also does'nt give a clue. It's all well and good trying to find an eye-catching nic-name and avatar, but in a lot of cases it totally confuses.

It actually took me a bit before I worked out Eager Slut was male..
such fine knicks and a sluttish pose really looked very sleek and sexy
(which he is of course) but it automatically made me think he was female
(even if he did look a tad well padded at the front)
...and marmalaid.. i had figured out you were a guy, then you changed your avatar and it just threw me so ive been thinking you were female until ive read this thread. You really have got girly legs and what looks like grey gym knickers on.
Mattmoleman...err..i obviously knew you were male from your last avatar but im afraid that new photo isnt really gonna trick many people into believing otherwise.

I think you might be onto something there. It's not that Marms has wonderfully smooth long legs but its actually the lightly coloured, neat and tidy background. If it was full of rubish, had a football calander on the wall then maybe the image would be in a different light. confused
