no snow here ( cornwall), havent had any. its dry and cold but very sunny at the moment.

It always amused me when I first came to live here (Bristol) that a as soon as a flake of snow appeared, majority of people didnt go to work as the weather was considered too bad to travel. An inch of snow and buses, cars etc come to a halt...... it creates gridlock in the centre which impacts on the rest of the road network.
I was used to the hard frozen snowy nothern winters and was used to walking miles in 2 foot of snow to get to school.
Ive come to realise that this city is never prepared for bad weather and have no idea how to... and were expecting snow this week so doubt my staff who live a mile away wont be coming to work.:? :?
So far its freezing, frozen ice on paths all day and a lovely cold wind that make ya cheeks burn....... love it!

The UK is useless when it comes to snow
Christmas 2005 was spent in the French Alps- at least a foot of snow but no problems at all. Even the tiny access road to the farmhouse we stay in was ploughed before six AM.
We got home to find 2/3 inches on the ground here, deepest I've seen here since I moved from ooop north 14 years ago. Mr Winch set off to pick the dog up from the kennells, around 5 miles away. The roads hadn't been touched & there were abandoned cars everywhere! He got caught in a drift but luckily still had the snow chains in the car- we hadn't used them in the Alps at all FFS! :roll:
Snow forecast here for tonight & tomorrow, but it does tend to miss our little corner.
, a dusting this morning that disappeared with the first rays of sunshine. :cry:
