I was fiddling around earlier, saw an ad on my AOL about a Rod Stewart concert. I think he's brill so clicked on it to find out more (not particularly concentrating, just browsing really). Clicked a few more buttons, then just presumed it was fully booked and closed the pages.
It's now about 4 hours later and I have just received this email :eeek: :eeek: :eeek:
Hello, (my name was here)

Sell them on eBay you'll probably make a profit!
Have you used the website before and entered card details that it's remembered???
Might be worthwhile getting in touch with the card company and emailing customer services explaining it all.
If you pay your AOL sub on the same card, that's how they know...
But I agree with the previous advice. Ebay. I have a friend who always double buys and always manages to sell at a profit.

I'm pretty sure that your bank will be able to sort this out. Although it doesn't sound like an attempted fraud, someone's software is obviously up shit creak and all you need do is threaten police intervention.
They can't be that desparate to flog these tickets... wink
you will find that if you order on aol, the bill will be added to your aol account.
Thanks for the advice, thanks everso kiss .................... Except for Brumlad!!! smackbottom :smackbottom: :smackbottom:
I'll have you know Brumlad I'm a damsel in distress I am, right bluddy distress
What I can't understand is that they spelt my name the wrong way, they didn't send it to my main aol account that I always use to shop with, they sent it to one which hardly anyone knows cos I never really use it. I don't own any credit cards, so unless they mean switch then they can't get any money anyway dunno
Will ring the bank this morning and let them know about it tho. Once again, thanks for the advice biggrin
Missy, please get in touch with AOL and your bank to get this sorted. I don't know if you read my thread last week about us being victims of internet fraud, but someone got my debit card details and spent £4000 online last week, I would hate to think someone else was going through this like the nightmare we have gone through this last week.
ccr xxx
I hope you can sort it all out easily, MISSCHIEF - it's all bluddy sinister, isn't it.
Mike.
Wow thats scary MissChief. I hope you get it sorted today!!!!!
Hope you get it sorted out hun
would scare me to death that happening .........well weird
I'd SERIOUSLY get that checked out!! You can't just accidently buy tickets on ticketmaster. You have to press too many acknowledgment buttons. And don't be fooled by the customer service link. I have had enough fraudulent e-mails from E-bay and Expedia to know that they DO look to be valid.
Good luck!
I've brought loads of tickets from ticket master. I have always had to re enter card details.
I'm not sure but you may have a cooling off period. But either way check it out coz it may well be a scam.
Hi mischief
you should apply for the virgin mobile advets
( the idle thumbs one!)

"Big brother is Watching"
Thanks for your help biggrin much appreciated ........ except for Mrs FC who can sit in the naughty corner with Brumlad!!! smackbottom :lol2:
Anyway, I phoned the ticketmaster people today ........ and the whole thing just seems to be the biggest coincidence since the coincidence competition at the Coincidence Fete on National Coincidence Day in Coincidenceville......
The email was not meant for me, it was meant for someone else with the exact same name and surname as me, also with a very similar email address (just one letter in it). Someone in West Kingsdown (or something like that) ....... I checked my card wasn't used to pay for it as it all still seemed too much of a fluke. Told em the last 4 digits, and it wasn't my card that was used.
It just so happened that I was looking on that website for the first time in my life, and looking at the same concert on the same day it all happened!
Bluddy weird or what.
Once again, thanks for your help :D

Could well be ..... after all not many other places you can go to other than a Rod Stewart concert dressed in leopard print trousers with tartan scarves hanging off your wrists cool ready to wave when the song 'Sailing' comes on ... not only wear it, but also totally fit in without being told you look like a bad Bet Lynch :undecided:
Misschief - fashion conscious 8-)
