Hello all,
I've been off and on this site for a number of years and I have to say that I think that the site has changed rather a lot over the last few years.
I know that there will be advances and improvments and general changes.
But as an adult seeker of adult fun I've noticed that this was one of the few sites where I've felt safe, included, and that there was a degree of communication and rapport.
I have always felt that there is a degree of accountability with this site, and that people are here not just for sex but to get advice and information about choosing a lifestyle, as in Swinging.
This is not just an 'email me for instant sex' site, which can be entertaining, but you can look for people, the forum for example is a great place to get to meet people and to get involved.
Someone mentioned in another thread that this site is becoming more and more about instantaneous sex, which I might agree with (though I do use it in that capacity from time to time... )
I was very new to this site, and the lifestyle when I joined originally and it was full of people who were helpful, friendly, that gave good advice and that helped me as a single woman to ensure that I was safe ( and that included obtaining an unwanted stalker from the site).
I've been guided by people on this site, I've been reassured and I've always been made to feel comfortable and included. :P
Has the site changed, is it now going the way of other pointless sex sites (which I've tried for about an hour and run away from - on slow nights it has to be added redface ).
Interested to hear what people thinks.

I`d answer ...but I can hear the keys a rattling already !!! rolleyes

As long as the discussion stays within the AUP there's no reason it should get locked. confused
I thought he was talking about preperations for a swingers party.
thats how they work isn't it?
I read it somewhere
lp
Flower,
I was totally at a loss there...
I thought you meant rattling almost as in marley's ghost style (poor reference to Charles Dickens here and too lazy to check).
Why would the discussion get locked!!! I was aiming more for a discussion about the nature of the members and those who are on the site?
I think it's changed, it's still a hell of a lot better than the alternatives but I was curious to see what other people thought.
The swinging community is a lot smaller than you'd think!
I also think that the site has changed, and that the people online are not as friendly / constant as they used to be and that's as a sporadic user, I was curious to see what other people thought.
Also, what does AUP mean please?
Amber
AUP = Acceptable Use Policy

By the way Amber, I've enjoyed your posts this evening
Hello there,
Thanks, most helpful! Glad you've enjoyed them.
Interesting fact - did you know that if you google your user name and this site that your posts come up online...
I thought that this was a bit less 'out there' than that...
Haven't read the 'aup'... oops maybe I'll get this locked after all.
I do have to mention as a totally random aside that the 'quality' of the other members is not something I would complain about at all, hmm, much recent fun!! smile x
It is changing or as some might call it evolving and I suppose all that comes from the commercial side of things....
Is it for the better or for the worse dunno
A lot of the people who helped you through your formative years here are still about and still happy to offer the same friendly advice and pointers to anyone who is willing to listen and inwardly digest them...
So all in all it's not all bad really dunno
Just read the AUP (phew)... I think I'm safe.

Hi Flower,
Hmm, a bit of autocratic dictarian (that I don't think is a real word but I like it) mod discretion/discrimination.
I've just joined an online lit site to try to write stuff there and got very very confused by the terminology.
Clearly I'm rather 'out of the loop' when it comes to online activities. For example I don't bleat like a bird to tell people what type of loo paper I'm using...
Now I am rambling.
What happened to the SH 'Magazine' I saw advertised a few years ago? I've never seen one, and now you pay to use the site with 'extras'...
At least it's still free - or is that just because I've been a member for a wee while.
I do think the site has changed, and I don't like the split forums, but I do like the fact that there seems to be a lot of people on the forums that are familiar even to one as sporadic as me!!
Sorry for the rambling.
Amber x
Signing off after a flurry!
Not for a 'mcflurry'... time for duvet loving me thinks...
(rabbit - neglected? :,()
Night all

Hi Amber, i sort of recognise the name and from the joining date you probably browsed the site back in the days when it was free and run by Mark.
Although the site infrastucture has been seriously overhauled and lots of new features added, i still feel like a large amount of the soul of the forum died when it became a commercial entity.
Back then there seemed to be more regular posters in the forum and because there were less munches/socials everyone seemed to attend them and it all felt more personal and special as we all seemed to know each other.
Now, although there is still quite a few regular posters, it feels like there are little pockets of friends (i'd say cliques, but the thought police will take me away and body search me  ) possibly due to there being more social events but not so many of the must attend tpye super munches of old.
I also think swinging seems to be more mainstream now, almost a sort of 'must try' activity for some people. It may have lost some of the excitment of being involved in something that was maybe a little less accepted and on the fringe of 'normal' behaviour or maybe i've just been doing this too bloody long and and feel a little jaded by some of it.
not sure if this answers our question as i've sort of rambled on a bit dunno

You wish lol
I don't, Bilko is still the chief interrogator :scared:
can't blame him, she was hot then and she's still hot now :rascal:
Yes Amber the site has/is changing
for better or worse I haven't decided yet. I think before it was far more friendlier and relaxed and your spot on about the advice and guidance that was there before I do feel that is lacking now.
Maybe that shows that just because the members numbers have increased that more people on here are looking for sex rather than swinging or relationships or just friendship.
That's why I like to look in the forum as there are still some people posting who have been on here for a while(and some newer members from when I joined) who know how to hijack a thread and have a laugh and get their point across without being autocratic
