Can any of the wise people on here answer this please.
I use the PC at work to view this site and respond to ads etc. Although there isnt a ban on doing this, will our I.T bods be able to see what I am looking at and (even worse) will they be able to read the emails and messages i send and receive on here?
Thanks in advance.

dave can you the finish the work i give you ,oh then report to my office lol
They will most likely be able to see what sites you have viewed and maybe some of the content but I doubt they will be able to see any pm's or emails sent via the site unless they have a password logger and can gain acsess to your account (always something to think about when logging on from a pc other than your own)
If you can clear your temp internet file and history every time you log off that will help then its only whats hidden in the log files and cookies.
You can delete the cookies individualy if you know where to find them, I can direct you if needed, or you can use a program called CCleaner, but thats a lot deeper and cleans everything all histories of all programs although you can set it up to just clean certain programs.
On straight look with nothing done they will see what sites you have looked at and anything you can see as a free member, depends on how deep you think they will look if they even want to, this is the dangers of looking at work. PM if you want specific advise.
They will most likely have a server log detailing what sites are accessed, for how long and by whom. Deleting your history / cookies will have no effect on this log.
It is also possible they have a Virtual Network Client (VNC) where they can view your screen if they choose. Most places will tell you about this due to privacy concerns.
Without knowing exactly what kit/software your firm have deployed, or the level of competency/curiosity of the IT crew, it's almost impossible to answer your questions.
However, I can answer you with another question: What's more important to you? A quick shufty at SH during the working day, or your employment?
If you value the second then wait 'til you get home to do the first
Lordy! Think you might be living dangerously here Dave, for the reasons outlined above.
Best wait til you get home fella!
Technically - yes.
It depends on what they have on site - but it isn't difficult or expensive to have such kit in place. Logging which sites/pages were accessed is trivial.
Also - as SH uses a proprietory password system, isn't over a secure link, depending on how the site is coded it is possible to capture username/password as it goes through.
Similarly - as the PMs etc appear to be simple forms, then yes, these can be captured.
Having implemented such systems, I prefered to ensure everyone knew what the systems COULD do - and I never had any issues with people going to iffy sites.
You need to check your company IT policies and your employment contract. Accessing SH (and pics) could get you fired depending on what they have.
However, if your actions are logged, the company SHOULD let you know about it - we had a "All email and internet access is being monitored" box every time user logged on - they had to click "I agree to this" in order to work. So they were very well reminded!! If they don't you have a legal get out of jail free card.
(As mentioned - remote screen shots are possible, but as web activity can be recorded/played back from the server side it isn't necessary to replicate what you look at and how long for)
As mentioned below - I'd strongly suggest you kept away from such sites at work unless you know the managers are also players smile
Edit: To reiterate above - deleting ANYTHING on your client will have NO EFFECT at all on work systems. This is only good for home computers so the kids can't see it. Also - remember your home ISP can keep logs, and also remember your kids may have other tools to watch you :)
Is this any different to taking someone else's BB connectivity whilst driving by? dunno
It's theft plain and simple. Your employer employs you to do a job of work and unless that job is checking out all the swinging sites, you're in deep shit if you get found out
:wary:

I agree with Super_hans. Leave it till you get home. Most companies track there computers, it might be that your not been spotted yet but one day you will be.
Thanks for that everyone. I have no worries about getting sacked I just didnt want any of my staff finding out about this site or any personal info. I might be passing on via email on here.
