The Metro unstrike was sort of good news, as I wasn't looking forward to walking to work today (Bus? What's that?). But stupid John just had to wander into Northumberland St around 1pm. Stupid stupid John.
I'm not entirely sure what the population of Newcastle is, but I'm sure there were three times that number all crowded into each and every shop. Not that it was possible to get near any of them - the entire population of China had been flown in specially to mill about outside. It was a solid mass of people.
If there's anything that's guaranteed to make me stop shopping at Christmas time, it's Christmas shopping. How can anyone buy anything at this time of year?

EH??? Though I do agree with 1) - it'd be more useful if Christmas was in spring/summer. I HATE being out in my party frock and strappy heels with snow/sleet/rain/wind blowing me around.
