I am a one glass man. that is to say I like to remember if I had fun.
What are you nothing, or so much you do not know if you said yes or no... or just enough to have to option of blaming the drink?
None for me.
I'm one of those poor souls who has to go through life sober rolleyes
I like to drink little, but there are times when one is expected to drink. That is not the same time as I play.

I drink when I want to drink. I never am in a position where I feel I have to drink or expected to drink. That is a poor excuse for a drunk in court in my mind.

Dave_Notts...but I never said I got drunk or taken to court.
"I was expected to............(fill in the blank)" in my mind is an excuse in the making. Either do it or do not do it but accept responsibility for whatever you have done, whether good or bad.
In this era of blame evryone else than yourself, I cringe when I see comments that start or have that in them.
Are you a drunk or been to court? I have no idea and was not trying to imply thta. I was using it as an example of the way someone would use it.
As I have been typing this. Another example has sprung in my head. Child says "But I only did it coz Jimmy done it" Dad says "Would you jump off a cliff if Jimmy told you to do it?" This has been told to kids for generations..........this is the same as the excuse "I was expected to......" in my mind.
If that made sense, then you are doing better than me lol

i never go out with the intention of getting slaughted, it all depends on how the night pans out and tbh who im with, if the first few drinks go down well then they carry on flowing but i always get to the point where i know iv had enough and go on the cokes...unless i drink Budweiser...which i don't do often if you see me with a bud in my hand just stay well away you know im on a mission to total nothingness drinkies
I don't drink before meeting someone new.
I tend to get wrecked before meeting SH members I've encountered before... it dulls the pain. biggrin

Is that Jimmy the base-jumper or Jimmy the bungie-jumper?
That Jimmy must be lucky enough to live near the sea I should think.
here, in the urban sprawl Jimmy may be indulging that new popular urban sport named by the French; Parquet I believe it's called called.
Free-running, roof-top to roof-top. Using the street furniture as they go for spring boards and jumping-off points.
very gracefull and quite a philosophy behind it all so I understand.
And eventually the whole of the Metropolis is to have wonderfull woodblock layed on all surfaces. Quite astounding.

Isn't that what the French fans of Quadrophenia wear on their scooters?

I don't drink all that much... I certainly don't drink before a meet. I like to have all my wits about me! wink
If it goes well then I want to be sober enough to enjoy it and if it doesn't go well I want to be sober enough to deal with that properly.
Sometimes I'm so sensible it scares me! redface

Well you can have the gobby one with the cape then! I'll have the friendly one with a geeky love of things you can plug in :inlove:
I like a drink to relax me as I get dreadful nerves, but I'm a terrible drunk, not in a nasty way, I just get daft and over friendly redface
I try not to drink socially now, just at home.

Hmmm, an anti-social drinker who gets daft when drunk... now where did I put that bottle of brandy? dunno

Jim, Jack, Johnny Red, Johnny Black, and Jose, all my favorite men. (Lil from Coyote Wild but I'm happy to steal it)
Some would say I'm daft without the alcohol rolleyes

Now how could you get over friendly?
i have always said, if you have to drink to swing then you should'nt be swinging wink i like to have a drink but not because i need to but i just like a drink i can quite happily swing sober.
I must agree, in fact if the lady is tipsy I back of.
I do like a cup of tea before and after, does that count dunno lol
I have no objection to you sipping Tea anytime.
I must admit I like my hands to have something to do. It stops them lunging forward inappropriately quickly. So a drink, coffee, tea, or a long cool something, perhaps a jam donut is useful.
