When reading a male profile I would like to know a little bit about him and what he is looking for. A body picture is much more attractive than a cock shot and shows more imagination.
I like the ads that are writen from the heart, with thought and feeling. Bonus points are given for good grammar, spelling and appropriate use of captials. General coherence is also a must, as is reading and keeping to the site rules, how can I reply if I don't know what you are looking for?
As well as posting in the ads, join in the forum and the banter as this is the way most people get to know each other. Time and patience is needed to establish yourself here. As in real life people warm to you over time and to trust you.

But act on the sound advice that has been given above, take time to get know folks on the forum, & you will find that you are rewarded with some nice friends & hopefully the occasional shag. I just read somewhere that you found it a closed community, or something like that. It really isn't .... but people do get short when they are constantly asked the same questions, week in week out.
Take a look around the site, get a feel for it, read the advice, do a bit of a search on the threads on topics you're not sure of ..... then once you have done that, people are normally more than happy to answer any questions you may still have. They just don't like being expected to do all the work for you, that's all.
Once you've looked around, you will see that we are all quite nice people
