Tepic mate a dog is family and you sound like you cared a great deal for him. Its hard mate but a dogs love for his master is uncondintional a bit like a childs, so even though his time with you was short he was happy. Keep your chin up pal

thanks clyde, although compared to your probs, mine are insignificant...but many thanks anyway...and as for the chin up...same goes from me to you.....
Teppic - I STILL get upset over the dog I had that died when I was a kid. Were it still alive it would be the oldest dog in the World,it would be in its early forties!!
Yet still I lament over that little scraggy black thing, stil feel sad when I see a photo its on.
They are wonderful companions, its sad when they go - so don't you feel bad about being down on here over it - and as you see other people totally understand.

Commiserations my friend. I cried like a baby when I had to have my boxer put down. What a character - what a beautiful dog that brought so much happiness to our family. Nutty, incorrigible and loving. I know it leaves a big hole!
will you lot please stop it now....i have had more sympathy from here than my own family....i really mean it when i say thanks....you have all been so good, but please ...no more... you all need to be talking bo11ox again....please...thats what i need right now...
Look, I have loads of sympathy for you, my cat, CoCoa, was killed about a month ago by a kid on a bike. I really miss her she was a babe, but it does get easier trust me.

I agree with all of that. My oldest dog is now almost 10, she understands me and I understand her, it really is a deep relationship and so it should be. A look from her or a word from us is all we need, she can tell one drawer from another in the kitchen to know if it's interesting enough to demand her presence. She is a part of the family and although I think she is likely to die before me, and for her sake and mine I hope she does, the parting is always hard. Especially because I don't have children so I do treat them as child substitutes.
I'm so sorry to hear about the young boxer, I had one as a boy who died on Christmas Day, run over chasing another dog across the road. I was in charge as my parents and brothers had gone to Communion. Poor little mite.
Hello all! wink
I'm pretty new to the site but thought I'd say what I felt. Hmmm ... its never an easy subject to chat about. The way I think about it .. is that they're in a better place now (yeah I believe in the afterlife) n hopefully we'll meet up again. I've now decided to have plants instead of pets !
Someone once suggested one of them robotic pets (the ones that u see in them Gadget Shops) but I never really saw the point. Having said that, one of me mates got them Sony pet robots and thinks its the best invention after the wheel. Some weird friends that I have.
All I can say is that it's never easy but life will go on n they will always be with us in our hearts :therethere:
Poor you, its not nice to experience something like that :rose: Thinking of you x
