Just my opinion but if you are banned from the Forum it is likely to be because you have transgressed the AUP or similar.
Seems unlikely that someone who has that hanging over their head would be welcome at a munch.

the only reason i'm asking is cause i know that a banned member of the chatroom can still attend munches and stuff, so thought if it works both ways

Well, speaking as a very new chatroom member (so I know fuck all really) it seems you can get banned for relatively minor transgressions for short periods in the chatroom, which don't seem to be so serious. Mind you if you've been permanently banned from the chatroom for something like persistent trolling - I would've thought the same principles apply as for the Forum.
