We joined (well Dawn did actually) in August 2003. There followed a frantic series of text messages from me - at work, to dawn, back home.
"what advert?"......"what site"...
and the rest they say is history.

Just looked on the list and there are loads who have never posted.

Well looking at the black darlek, he joined the forum on 20th May 2003 - So this threads for anybody who signed up from then until the 20th November 2003.

oh thats alright then..as i joined in april 2004...I'm not an oldie......skips away with a new re-newed spring in his step !!!!!
Isn't the current forum just a rejigging of an earlier one, which suggests that the site was running well before the 20th May 2003. I seem to remember seeing pages from the old forum in a thread on here quite some time ago. See the thread below.

As to joining, I first started using the chatroom in September 2003 and registered for the forum in December to sign up for the first NW munch. The chatroom was a much more pleasant place then I think with only a handful of people in and no need for rules. I remember the excitement when there were 40 users in there.

Yep - the site was a very different place in those days, much more scarier and more like a really odd chatroom. Mark moved it over to this format in May 2003, hence the joined dates. And in those days it was much quieter too.

Well I'm not an "oldie" but I am still around - 18 months and counting or there abouts, sometimes it feels like about 6 months too long - maybe all accounts should expire after a year and then we could all choose a new name and re-invent ourselves?
