It requires either an enema for an acute attack or a course of suppositories for the more common, chronic condition.
You can identify the difference easilly cos the accute version tends to result in a more, shall we say - colourful? output, compared to the more dull, repetative nature of the chronic case.
In either situation, failure to treat results in a possibly permanent state of irritation of the fora membranes.
