What is your unusual way to keep warm?
My son fills the hot water bottle and puts it under his feet while sitting at the computer. I think it's a hint to turn the heating up. :giggle:
I tuck my feet into a bean-bag - very cosy and keeps my tootsies out of the draft.
I read this forum.
Sometimes what I read makes my blood boil.
Snuggle the dog
Run round the house for 5 minutes
I like that walls signature as well.
I put a note through the old lady's letter box next door reminding her of the dangers of hypothermia and the huge winter fuel bonus she will shortly be receiving.
Having sex seems the way:
I get enough of those, as I am getting old!!
Don't wanna scare the kids :lol2:
i use the live fur blanket!! four dogs have gotta earn their keep! i get cold easily and take forever to warm up temperature wise!
kooxx
I have a 13.5 tog duvet all year round. It cost a fortune and is the best Christmas present I've ever had!
I also have an electric blanket which I've just switched on!
Hot bath - could happily stay in till I dissolved...
I couldn't possibly 'entertain' at mine in winter - bedsocks and woolly hat are soooo unsexy!
central heating, coal fire and if my feet are cold i put them on the laptop lead block thingy. it gets warm.
re the hugewinter fuel payment, hardely huge, some only get £150 considering it can cost £30 a week in heating they can be warm without fear for 5 sadely some spend this on christmas presents instead.
xxx fem xx
TBH the only time I can't get warm is when I'm ill.
I did find though that as soon as I left the heating on 24/7 but dropped it a couple of degrees my heating bills came down drastically. Apparently it costs more for the boiler to be working its butt off twice a day to warm up a cold house than it is to let it 'tick over' all day with a small top-up. It also seems that the structure of the building then starts to absorb the heat too and acts like a radiator. Worked for me. Currently the gas company owes my £400+ because my monthly payments are now too high.
It's great now that the house is warm all day regardless of the time.
I have a wonderfull little gadget that I put in the microwave that warms me lovely...and it gives off the scent of lavender to relax also..double bubble fabulous!
My heating is on all the time at the switches and just powered up or down by the thermostat
Peanuts theory works with the water to if you don't have a combi boiler installed, leave it on constant, If the temp drops it only takes slight power to warm it back up not like heating the full tank
I cant leave my thermostat set at a temp i like all day cos the house gets to bleeding hot even at 15 or 16 degrees though
