Not a good idea to advertise the fact you are receiving copied DVD's, which are in fact illegal !!!!!!!
Unless you mean you went to pictures to watch this film which is not yet out on DVD.
hehehe the beloved other half took his daughters to watch it and had to endure 3 hours of watching it all, when he came out and i asked him how good it was he said "total crap" or words to that nature. Can you imagine wasting 3 hours watching 'rubbish' when there are so many other things you could be doing!! lol

Of course I didnt read it properly, its my eyesight, at 108 it is sometimes difficult to read the posts wink
I loved it... But then thats just me lol
seen the trailers for it and generally unimpressed.... less so of the advert for the computer game (no advert for a computer game should have "jumpy" graphics)
Seen Narnia recently.. and really enjoyed it... and being 25 .. i was a kiddie when the series was out :-d
I am tempted to go watch the producers when that comes out.
I've seen the original and enjoyed that so I hope this new one is as good.
Other than that can't think of any films that would tempt me to brave the cinema.
I'm fed up with all these 'how superheroes got started' films. How many times can a film be made with the same plot of 'accident / discovery of powers / internal conflict about powers / sod all that, just get on with saving the world'?
X-men, Spider-Man, Batman, Batman Begins, The Fantastic Four, The Hulk (and the new Sup[erman film)... are all just the SAME film with a few details changed. Superhero films can be good, but Hollywood would rather stick to the same old formula, all these ones I've mentioned put together don't have the plot, inventiveness and insight of 'The Incredibles', which was supposed to be a kids movie!
The sad thing is that this 'accident / discovery of powers / internal conflict about powers / sod all that, just get on with saving the world' plot was actually handled in a brilliantly different way by a much overlooked film, 'Unbreakable', which wasn't the box office smash that the others were - presumably because it wasn't all about computer graphics effects, and spent much more of it's time dealing with characters and motivations.
While I'm on a rant... 'The English Patient" - how boring was that? Telling a story out of sequence doesn't equal intellectual insight.
I will admit to being rather impressed with 'charlie and the chocolate factory' though, which managed to both be a scene-by-scene retelling of the earlier film where necessary, and to add a whole new layer dealing with Wonka's quirkiness, which is simply presented as a fixed fact by the book and first film.
The most boring film I ever endured was Travels With My Aunt, god what awful tosh that was.
War of the Worlds, ok the kinematics were ok, and the bringing it up to date bit worked but the whole thing was spoiled for me purely because I already new the ending.
The Lord of the Rings Trilogy is probably the best production I have ever seen but then I am a Tolkien fan.
Apart from that one there's been a lot of run of the mill mediocre stuff coming out recently IMHO but then I have not seen all of the recent releases, so not talking from a position of full knowledge.
happy 2006 everyone.

havnt been to see the new Kong film but when the origional was so good(for its era) carnt see the point in making exactley the same picture again from the trailers i have seen the monkey( sorry carnt spell gorilla) moves like the Hulk did in that other over rated remake of the incredable hulk
Not been to the picture's for about 12 month's but I made a speacial effort to see kong thought it would be good how wrong could I have been. What a crock of cr*p especially the last half hour on the island (I won't give the plot away) but all them bug's were just a self indulgent speacial effect's fest. I am now thinking of sueing every movie critic who said it was good. It has scarred me me for life it was that poor lucky if I go to the picture's for another 12 year's let alone 12 month's.

We watched " Dark Water" it sounds like a description of a bad kidney infection , but in fact its more painful . Is every horror film this decade going to be a pale imitation of The Ring ?
