I can't work out why people are so surprised/angered by what the low lifes at News International get up to.
I can remember a "shock expose" years ago, when they"exposed"a headmaster who was into what was then called the Sunday morning of publication he committed suicide.
No apology,no regret nothing.
FFS don't buy it,take a leaf out of Liverpools book,Much of the city is a Sun free zone.
Sounds like a good idea to boycott the tabloids
We all agree that the NOTW and all who work on her are complete crap. Should we not be suggesting ways to STOP them and their ilk getting into swingers venues?
One thing about Cupids in Manchester is that as soon as people go in the men have to put a towel on and the women usually put on lingerie, not much chance of hiding a camera there. But what about other clubs where people stay in normal clothes?
Can't see customers submitting to being frisked on entry, so can anyone think of a way to detect the very small cameras that they use? Any cameras found should be inserted (without lub) where the sun don't shine!!
How about getting hold of the photos of ALL reporters who work for NOTW and putting them on this site?

Well they do say that there's no such thing as bad publicity.
For as many people who will be put off by the bad (?) press and even the presence of reporters, there are just as many people who were unaware of the club's existence and might be encouraged to join as a member and partake in the activities on offer.
And there just might be people who are reporters but who are also genuine swingers, so signing to say that they will not use anything (in a newspaper or magazine) they see or hear when in the club may be more appropriate...possibly to every potential member
I imagine technology would quickly outrace you on this one. How long before a camera can be concealed under a fingernail, or in a false tooth, or under your tongue, or whatever? Now that I think of it, digital cameras are already small enough to be easily concealed in a body cavity to pass by any kind of search at a boundary - the only problem being then they can't be operated from these locations. (Well, unless the News of the Wurld especially want to publish photographs of their reporters' colons.) But give it time... human ingenuity can usually find a way to get around whatever rules and checks are imposed.
That's why the signed membership agreement is important... it gives the club the right to sue reporters for breach of contract, and claim unlimited damages.
This does assume that the club doesn't want the attention though.
We were having a discussion about this in the sauna - all acknowledging that clubs provide comfort and security for us to perv as we like. NOTW are totally out of order - we need to complain in numbers.
Comment from Neil Armstrong-Nash, Managing Director of Liberty Hotels Ltd and Liberation.
It is our firm belief that the British swinging scene has, for far too long, been run as a cottage industry. Negative and salacious reporting has driven the whole scene underground, and as a result, led to prejudices associated with our lifestyle choice. When Lianne and I came up with the idea of opening Liberation last year, our aim was to provide a safe, comfortable and luxurious environment where like-minded people could meet. I hope that you will agree with me when I say that I believe we have achieved this in Liberation.
Furthermore, we recognised that for the UK swinging scene to grow-up and mature like that of its European counterparts, the cycle of silence, misconception and prejudice needed to be broken. Therefore, Lianne and I have tirelessly championed the cause in the British media, achieving positive profile as a result. In fact, new research commissioned with YouGov has revealed that just over 10% of Britons in a relationship have or would like to swing, demonstrating the growing acceptance in this country.
Sadly, our spirits were somewhat dampened on Sunday morning when we read that the club was at the centre of a tabloid exclusive, "exposing the secrets of a new hotel for swingers," in the News of the World. While the article basically concluded nothing more than the fact that "consenting adults have safe sex in rural Leicestershire," particularly as Lianne and I had already given the newspaper in question an open, honest and frank interview some months earlier. We were alarmed by the invasion of privacy that underlay the approach the story did take.
Since launching Liberation in February of this year, we have made every effort to protect the identities of our members. Our membership rules clearly state that no photographic devices are allowed in the club, and the identities of our members should not be revealed to any third party including the media.
Our approach of being open with the press has largely been welcomed by all concerned as it has led to greater balance in reporting and has meant the press were only present when the club was closed or accompanied by our PR agent. It had, we believed, removed the desire or need to go ‘undercover’.
Unfortunately, due to the News of the World article and, moreover, the accompanying pictures, we are now forced to introduce stricter security measures. Although all members are already required to provide proof of ID, we have now introduced even more stringent security checks including an electronic scanner to pick up any hidden recording devices and random bag searches. Whilst mobile phones have always had to be left in lockers, we now also have no option but to place a total ban on them in the club.
Finally, we have taken legal advice and will be taking action against the journalists in question as well as the newspaper. A complaint has been logged against the News of the World with the Press Complaints Commission and we will keep you posted as to the result.
We will continue to champion the cause for swingers in Britain and welcome any comments feedback to
Thank you for that response, I think it is good that you have come on here to tell your side of the story. It is admirable that you are trying to open up our lifestyles so that we are not so but this particular time it has really done us all a disservice. I'm sure you can understand a lot of peoples reticence about returning to your club after the facial photos were printed and the nature of the article and I am glad to hear that you will be much more stringent in your security measures in future to avoid this happening again.
A number of SH members have complained to the PCC and I support your decision to take court action against the reporters who were way out of order and I hope they get the book (or crappy rag newspaper) thrown at them.
Here's to things settling down soon and I hope your business remains successful and most of all private and confidential from now on.
Well said Neil and thank you for posting on the Cafe. It's refreshing to see someone promoting swinging in a responsible and mature way, but that's how we like to do it here at SH as well. Good luck with the case against NOTW.

Good comments from the Liberation people.
The bit about banning mobile phones is a two edged sword however... Rightly ban mobiles from the play area, ESPECIALLY picture phones.....but we do need our bog standard mobile somewhere where we can be told if it is ringing, just in case of emergancies.. At a few clubs they will keep them behind the bar and find you if it rings.

camera watches, pens..its amazing what things u can get with cameras in now...its certainly put us off going to the club after the new year as planned..tho were not ashamed of swinging, wouldnt want my mum and kids to see me in the papers..argh!
