Sorry if this has been done before had a search but couldnâ€™t find anything.
Sitting here with to much time on my hands, I took a look at the members list. Kind of interesting if you like number crunching.
Currently 29472 members are registered with SH.
14125 Have never posted in the forum, not even so much as a hello.
Another 11977 members have posted but less than 10 times. Surely we couldnâ€™t have scared them all away.
That leaveâ€™s us with 3370 members of which thereâ€™s a hardcore of 550 members with over 100 posts and a group of 104 SH ultras with over 1000 posts.

The number of members has grown by 10,000 over (from memory) the last six months.

There is nothing intrinsically wrong in being a member but not posting. Perhaps they just don't think they have anything relevant to contribute. It's better that they keep quiet than that they fill up the forums just for the sake of posting any old thing. And as many say, they enjoy browsing without posting. I browse a number of other forums on the net without any intention of joining in.

I too am a member at a couple of other (non-related) forums and have only posted about 4 times on one about digital TV thingies. I got the help I needed, passed on the stuff I found out about a specific machine and now just read the site.
Looking in is good - dipping toes in is better - joining in is great.

I surmise that most of those who join, post a bit and disappear are either bored, experimenting with their sexuality, being deceptive, journalists, looking for a quick shag, looking for the pornographied version of swingers or have personal issues which mean they can't get on the internet any more, or they can't and then lose interest.

I am working my way up to be ultra. I dont think Ive done too badly in getting to be hooked to this forum. Its just the nice peolpe that you can chat to here. I would have been ultra long ago but my job took me away with no pc of a night I was stuffed....But Ill get there soon... wink

Well you wont believe it but in real life its a toss up who is the most scarey bluexxx or rebecca_uk_tv ......both scare the crap out of me but then I love living on the edge. When put in perspective how would you feel if your life was surrounded by Transvestites, Transsexuals, Lesbians, bi scary females (plural) one of which has fluffy cushions and furry rugs for friends with names like Jinty or Ginty FFS :P . As for other web sites that I am a member of ?? rolleyes

That's a good question! One that I don't have an answer for, because I'm not surrounded by TS's, TV's, lesbians and bi-females - well, alright, I know a few of each, but I don't see how that'd make anyone quite such a scary person! :scared:
