hi there new girl in the house so please if this doesnt read right bare with me.........
i've been looking in the cafe for a couple of weeks now and often think of replying to posts when all of a sudden i get grabbed by a link
i then read that link and find myself soooo engrosed in another topic that i end up forgettin the topic that i was going to reply to in the first place.
i have tryed not to click on the links but its just impossible
WHAT CAN I DO????????????
I NEED HELP!!!!!!!!! dunno
Chestybabe, I know exactly what you mean, Im exactly the same, I start off reading one post, see a link, or click on their profile and end up somewhere completely different wondering what the hell am I doing here wink
And welcome to the cafe lol
I do the same thing and my way round it was to change my browser settings so as it opens links in a new window thus keeping the origional page should I wish to return to it. The down side is as I open so many links and not close them I end up with about a dozen firefox windows in the tool bar and if I have my daughter staying it's easy to minimize one should she get up in the night but as I close one I find another behind it, and another, and another, and............................... ahh you get the idea lol I've now given up minmizing and just turn the monitor off its easier

You can open them in tabs with Firefox, that way you only have to minimize one window wink

what he said! get tab mix plus or tabbrowser preferences from firefox extensions, set them up so a middle click opens everything up as tabs in the background. everything opens in the same window. one click to close them all, and in the darkness blind them! ((( dodgy LOTR alusion! )))
chesty, you can get firefox at
it's ace. i can keep the forum index open, click 2 dozen links, and all of 'em open up quietly in the background into tabs, so you need never lose another thread. not to mention it's a lot safer than internet explorer.
neil x x x ;)
thanks all
i downloaded firedfox last night its fantastic
saves a lot of hassle
cheers
