i never manage to get tickets to any decnt festivals, drives me fucking mad, been trying to go to Glastonbury for 4 yrs.....so dont expect to get to Live Aid either....
banghead = me trying to go to ANY decent live music event since 2001
we will have a bash at it
Can't seem to get into all the hype about this, yes it's a noble cause but unfortunately there are far to many despots in Africa.
Yeah we will cancell your debt only means to most of them that they can start building a new one, which means unfortunately the needy won't feel the benifit.
ellie totally 110% right the aid wont reach the needy
put someone in charge with principles rather than green eyed envy for the money and
slowly africa could be a better place
sanitation ,medical treatment and running fresh clean water would be a massive easy
step forwards

I've done it twice.
I'll be honest, i don't really give a shit about charity, i just want to see some cool bands. They did all this crap 20 years ago and Comic Relief and all that bollox ... poor buggers are still AIDS-riddled and starving so obviously not making any difference is it?
I wanna see Robbie Williams!!!
i have to agree ith marya i think to many people will look at it like that also, i am not being nasty as i give to many charities but i think the time has come to do sometrhing different we have done this 3 times now and given millions, yet it takes somebody like jamie oliver for the government to put more money in our schools for our children, nobody minded giving to the tsunami appeal because it was a worldwide disasster all im saying is how many more times have we got to keep helping out when there are cases all over the world that are needy but had nothing.
Sorry to bore you all and please dont think i am against what people are doing it would be nice for them help another country for a change
I am involved in peaceful protesting and I will be protesting at the G8, so I have to agree that a pop concert is not really going to make a difference but at the same time it can make people think.
There is a great community of people out there with their heads screwed on and are well aware of problems overseas and here in the UK.
Great quote
never doubt that a small group thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. indeed its the only thing that ever does.
great book to read for all you book worms..HIDDEN AGENDAS by John Pilger
end of politial broadcast redface
i had a go, am gonna have another go when i put some more credit on my phone! lol
Looking at the lineup it will not be anywhere as good as Liveaid.
And as others have said above the aid will hardly ever reach Africa and if it did the leaders will use it to line their own pockets.

The reason there is poverty in Africa is not only because of African leaders. Who by the way are supported by western governments. The problem is globalisation. With its multinationals and our consummerism. We in the west need to change our values and the way we live. Then the poor in the world might stand a chance. I support Sir Bob in his efforts. At least he is going to make people aware of the plight of others. Which I think is more important than the money raised. As for the world leaders at the G8. I don't think they give a toss.
in a word no
rather watch it on telly in the pub with cold beer and air conditioning
or more likely it will rain there in july :P
