did anyone on here attempt or succeed in getting tickets?
The music dosent really appeal to me, and in my opinion theres no way it will be half as good as live aid (not that i experienced it, but ive seen it on tv since) but i will most probably watch it on the box, and definatley send my contribution.
looking forward to it people?
I remember Live Aid and will not be getting involved this time .... partly because I don't think it will match the same and partly through my own political views *whilst I applaud Bob for his efforts and passion I don't think wiping out debt will benefit those truely suffering, this just takes the pressure of those already in the money!*

i didnt try and wouldnt want to go,
how long have we been giving money and what has happened to all that>??? just made african gangsters rich!
we give give give but it doesnt get where it needs to be, thats the problem that needs sorting, not a concert in a park!
Well we tried but was unsuccessful, so will just have to watch it on telly. Still not to disappointed as can watch it on telly. Got our Queen concert to look forward to the following Friday, so can’t complain

the concert and the live 8 evernt has never been about raising money.. it has been about cancelling the debt of nations that are aready on their knees....
for example.... if you know for every pound your country made.... 40p of that is going straight back to a bank, instead of going to educate for example, you may understand better what the objective it.... to put pressure on the wealthiest countries to truely open up markets,
so much for free trade when for example subsides go to farmers in europe, to keep prices artifically low, prootectionism...
i am not going to the concert, i would love to.... but i will be at the demo in edinburgh on tuesday... and i wish that anyone who could do would do so...

You're be surprised the influence it can bring....beside's we are still talking about a concert that happened 20 years ago ...thats influence for you... to make changes!
I tried....& failed...so guess I will make do with the telly
I do remember live aid & watching the dvd now reminded me how fab it was.
This 1 will be different of course but theres still some cracking peeps appearing..U2,Razorlight,Madonna,sexy Robbie & the fantastic Snow Patrol...I'm so gonna love it wink
I'm going! Well not to the main part but I'm going to Hyde Park where all the screens are being put up. Got my tickets today - didn't even have to queue!
No idea how I'm going to get there yet though....
biggrin
I'll be at Peter Gabriel's at the Eden Project.
A bit controversial, I know, what with it being an all black line-up....
