I have a good friend who's had a bit of a bad time (lost her job, home, husband in a succession of hassles), who's now rather bravely trying to rebuild her life.
As she doesn't have net access (lives out in the sticks, and not much money), I promised to try to find her some nice old-fashioned dates, to get back to normality. I first looked at "vanilla" dating sites, but the guys all seemed to be either very wimpy and inadequate, or potentially dishonest. Neither of which is what she needs.
It seemed simpler to place an ad on here, where at least the blokes tend to be fairly honest about what they're looking for. But I find it's against the AUP (you can't place an ad for a third party).
Has anyone any suggestions as to where I might trawl/advertise on this gal's behalf? Thanks!
Try the ad's in your local paper- there are lots of people in her situation, and they'll be nearby.
Getting her into meeting swingers at the moment seems a very bad idea. confused

I tend to agree..
Why not just take her out to a local wine bar or similar and get chatting to people....
Doesn't have to cost a fortune to sit people watching/eyeing up the talent....

How could I refuse :rascal:
I met a lady while on holiday in Kos a few years ago and she was having a ball. She was in her 40s, grown up sons and held a professional job.
Anyway she had been using the broadsheet papers to find romance and had met two men that had developed into relationships, but hadn't yet found the right one. She was however not put off by this as she said the men were both educated and gentleman who new how to look after a lady and she did enjoy their company.
If it is a 'vanilla' type relationship she is looking for, maybe this would be a good idea for her?

Venus has got it right. The quality press have the kind of response that offers genuine people looking for partners.
Agencies can charge a bit too much, and its not the right time to drift into swinging or sex oriented clubs as a solution.
