For you guys out there!... has any woman or man for that matter ever bought you any flowers?.. and if so what was your reaction?
Ive had some bought for me and to be honest i did giggle a bit.. dont get me wrong, it was very nice but i must admit i would have rathered a back rub. lol
how about you women?.. ever bought a man flowers?
would you?
Magik
Yes, once bought husband some !! He was such a help when i first set up my own business.
Why not?
I've never bought a man flowers as I've always known the didn't have a vase. And I can't buy Terry flowers as he's alergic.
I only ever get flowers when a bloke has done something wrong. rolleyes Hence, I haven't had any from Terry as he's never done anything that needs apologising for.... yet!
The biggest faux pas I ever made was buying flowers for a "butch" woman I was seeing. I needed to say sorry for something - and I did my normal flower thing. WORST thing I could've done. sad :(
Cost me almost £100 too!!!
personally i love it.
i mentioned it on another thread not so long ago! biggrin
whenever i've been bought them, i've been really touched. it's a nice bit of role reversal, and i know she enjoyed the giving of them, and my reaction! so what if it's not a blokey thing?
neil x x x x ;)
yip, we buy each other flowers often. Sometimes just a rose others a huge bloody garden full. Anyone else want to send us any, feel free lol

I have for my dad on a few occasions and for timmy once, dad loved them, tim looked at me like I'd gone mental, which is a shame because I like doing things like that. confused

Only had them bought for me once and I really liked it. Only problem was I spent the whole weekend sneezing and with sore eyes, which sort of killed the mood :color:
I love flowers and love to buy them for others too, such a simple but pretty gift that touches most people
Being single though I usually don't get bought any, still I don't mind treating myself to a bunch now and again biggrin
Yes and they were well received biggrin :D
hhmmmm a various response then. must admit it was a nice suprise ...and different.
Must admit i like to suprise a woman with flowers at times... but because of the stigma around men getting flowers for women when they have messed up kind of makes me think before i send them.

Well bunny.. you have to treat yourself ever now and again dont you wink
i normally buy myself a bunch of flowers most weekends when i am doing the weekly shop!
cos no one else does!
and unlike bunny.. that WAS a hint! pmsl
seriously though.... the only flowers from guys i have had have been on valentines day.
my darling little girl often saves her pocket money and gets me some though! biggrin
Last time I got flowers from hubby was October 4th 1990 How comes I can remember the date? It was the day our daughter was born and then he only did it because his mother told him too! Never got any when son was born (mother in law was on holiday!) Last time I got flowers was today from a close friend as a thank you.

ah well magik
you see, if you happen just to be doing the weekly shop, and see a lovely bunch of lilys, and buy 'em just cos you love her and know she'll like 'em, well the whole apology thing goes out the window doesn't it? just a thought for blokes doing the whole apology stigma thing! ;)

I have bought several guys flowers, some were totaly surprised.

No one has ever bought me flowers, although on several occasions I have bought flowers for ladies.
I quite like the idea of being given flowers, it would be quite a change and lovely gesture.
No-one has ever bought me flowere, & I must admit I'd be a bit stunned!!! I wouldn't mind though, & would certainly start looking for something to put them in. Shamefully, I must also admit it would never occur to me to by flowers for a woman............  Other things such as chocolate, wine etc.......... but never flowers.
I love getting flowers as a present. Last ones I received were a birthday pressie from my mum and they were gorgeous. I usually buy my own though, and intend to buy some tomorrow smile
Think I'd be a bit concerned about buying them for a man as I imagine most would think it a bit "girly". I'll bring it up in conversation though and may just buy him some if he seems to like the idea :)
I once bought flowers and choccies for Steve on a Valentines day,i think that he was a bit puzzled to start with, but enjoyed them all the same(i think confused )
We had a threesome with a nice guy who sent us flowers on his way home.
We invited him back.

When my daughter was born, flowers from Parents, Outlaws, and Work, from the ex? A packet of seeds and a trowel!!!!!!!!!! evil
I do buy flowers regularly for friends, male and female although have to admit to giving the 'plants in a basket' recently. Normally well received although I did come unstuck when a man I had a 'thing' with's girl friend opened the door to interflora and thought they were for her till she read the card (I didnt know about her!) redface

awwww how sweet is that
:rose:
i get flowers once or twice a year, from friends and family, rarely from hubby, coz i'm allergic. when someone buys me them i tend to put them in a room i dont live in ie dining room or kitchen the i wont be sneezing and coughing all the time, but its the thought that counts. hubby tends to buy potted plants so i can enjoy them outside (but this is rare).
i do buy flowers myself just to say thankyou or hiya or i'm thinking of you, if its for a bloke i will buy a single one (yellow or white rose).
so to all of you out there that have made me fell very welcome on my short time on SH

I've just been browsing through old threads from the time I was on holiday and missed a lot of stuff. Found a few interesting ones.
I like flowers, though it's not often that anyone has given me any. I have never regarded them as only a "girly" thing. It certainly isn't considered girly in most European countries:
When I lived in Denmark, in Danish league football when a player was celebrating his anniversary of total matches, like 200th or 300th match, he would always get presented with bouquet of flowers before the start of the match. Can't see that going down well in the premiership!
Mike.
