I was born and bred in Manchester,
I have lived and worked in various parts of the fair city,
I have seen good and bad in all aspects of Manchesters society,
i have moved out of the city to a small town in Lancashire,
I would recomend the small towns in lancashire than the cith of Manchester,
I havent been shot once since i left town, 3 times in Manchester.
I dont hang about with anyone,
I was living in a place called Moss side which you probably have never heard of.
Dont move there.
Alternatively, you could try
Manchesater is a truly great and unique place.
If you hit the ground running you will be fine,
Dont let it wash over you,
Its not London, its cleaner and more personnal,
Dont let gaurd down but keep sense of humour up,
Its a fine balance.
I grew up in Moss Side and still had family links there till my mum died 18mths ago, and to be honest yes at times itw as bad, but in reality it is much better these days, there is a lot less gang violence and a far better sense of commmunity than there used to be!
Ps - I know the Claremont very well, was my family's local when I was growing up!
Yes You can, its about 15 mins walk, across form Castlefield, my mates live there now and pay £50 a week - for the whole flat!
Don't forget the rain...
Oh and my eldest in a Bobby working, amongst other places, in Moss side AND IT REALLY IS A BAD PLACE WITH BAD PEOPLE
Agree with some of the other posts though. Manchester has some really nice parts and some really crappy parts, as does any other large city.
the reason to move????
Northerners. We have a monopoly on senses of humour and broad shoulders to go with it.
