I've had an idea:
How about we set aside an evening for people to create a new ID and come on here in disguise. Maybe have some kind of theme like cartoon characters or famous people or something and everyone tries to stay in character and at the end everyone unmasks and reveals who they really are.
Does anyone else think this could be fun?

Cool - we need a rule though
No clever shit type techno crap using IP addresses and such like - you come in and play the game or we ............. well actually, there is not a lot we could do - but we would press the keys really hard to show how cross we were! mad

and - everyone would also have to use a different e-mail address because you cannot register the two user names to the same e-mail address.
hm - anyone ever tried to do a murder mystery evening on a bulletin board??

Sort of. A regular poster suddenly stopped appearing and someone said he must be dead. Over a period of a couple of weeks there were posts about the discovery of a body, a weapon, someone signing up as a policeman character interrogating everyone and culminating in the 'dead' member turning up at his own forum funeral. rotflmao

Do we act like someone else? or just be ourselves and see if we're guessed?

Totally love the idea - I'll probably be very guessable but will really love guessing everybody else.
We'll need chance to think of a pic / character etc etc but I'm all for it !

What I was thinking was that we each create a new ID, possibly based on a theme that we can agree on beforehand. You could then either post as you normally would or try to disguise your style or "be" the character you created, whatever you like, you just don't tell anyone who you really are until the end. I would imagine there would be a lot of speculating in PM about who is who, and as long as nobody publicly exposes the people they've sussed before the official unmasking time, I think it could be a right laugh. biggrin

I know that admin can read IPs, not sure about mods. Why would they want to though? Even if they couldn't stand the suspense and had a peek, I'm sure they wouldn't tell anyone. (Trusting soul aren't I ;) )

Yes - mods can see IP addresseds - which is not of use for everyone - as an AOL user I have dozens listed against my user name.
I like the theme thing in one thread - we can dedicate the GFZ to it quite easily - any other thread you post in, has to be under your own user name.

Apart from Kat(e)'s ( are they one and the same person, I am a little confused),
strictions, am I to assume that we may assume any character,behaviour, gender, avatar, sexuality? roleplay for the masses? will there be a determined period of time, for the string? sorry Thread?

I wasn't envisaging any rules or restrictions other than those that already exist. Personally I think restricting it to one thread would be A) Boring, and B) Unenforceable. If everyone were to take part, it would be impossible to follow in a single thread, and the rest of the board would be dead.

fine by me, a bigger play ground as someone else, we could give wing to multi personalities, but I recognise Mods may have some probs with that, now where is my dressing up box?
And with no time constraint a complete parallel reality may become reality, I may even become 7 of 9!!!!

Problem is I have enough trouble with reality - let alone with anything parallell. And i certainlt don't want to be assimlilated.
