A lot of my earliest memories are somehow based around music.
I always seem to remember my mum and I in the back garden of our first house. The sun would be shining, she'd be pegging out the washing and I'd be sat eating a honey butty The radio was invariably on, playing the hits of the early 80s. That's why I always think fondly of songs like Living On The Ceiling by Blancmange, Too Shy by Kajagoogoo and Livin' It Up by Level 42.
Don't Look Back In Anger by Oasis reminds me of the Manchester bomb, Euro 96 and getting drunk on hideous cider and premium strength lager in the local park. What a time in history to be 15 years old - the summer of Britpop.
Hi all, Slim.
Can anyone remember the smell you used to get when you went to the picture's straight after they opened the doors, some sort of cleaning material I think
always reminds me of Suzie Robertson putting her hand up my shorts. biggrin :D

Someone, somewhere must remember going into the Sat matinee to see part (week 20) of the original Flash Gordon, handing over thruppence (or sometimes
jam jars). redface surprisedops: and getting that distinctive smell. dunno :dunno:
The smell of petrol and tomato soup. When I was little, my family would drive down from the North to Somerset, six of us crammed into a Ford Zephyr. Probably never went over 50 and took all day to get there. Whenever we stopped, it was at laybys. Not many motorways or Granada Services then! We had tomato soup in a large flask with a cork stopper, but the car always stunk of petrol, so difficult to prise the two apart as they share the same memory!
