I been out in the wind n rain the last 2 days while i been without a car.
Put layers on you'll be well snug but dont buy cheap cordura suit cos they leak as i found out when i learned to ride last year.
I have yet to upgrade my winter gear so i was a bit wet this morning in the seat area lol
bugger the big bike

Well.... whatever blows your own personal frock up!! -be careful though, I've heard that the exhaust can get a little hot......
Hehe
One less to worry about when visiting the Cat and Fiddle on the A537 wink
funnily enough me doing the test last year was a bit of a mid life thingy lol
I'm building a hornby too
Did i say that loud
Have to admit I sucumbed to MLC this time last year. Bought a 2 seater convertible sports car. It's been the most amount of fun outside of the bedroom, wish I had done it ages ago. biggrin :D :D

I did my CBT just over 2 years ago at the tender age of 46 ( though I hasten to add it WAS only on a scoot redface )
I love going out on a bike, especially as a pillion - you get to see more when you're not the main rider biggrin I love bike rallies and even done the ride from South to North Wales in the snow ( resembling the Michelin Man in the process! ) and have no desire to give that up just because of my age. I'll dust my lid off for anyone who wants to take me out on the bike!
What mid life crisis? dunno

The bike was a Douglas Draggonfly, remeber them lol.
Last bike I had was way back in 1960, a BSA Streamliner. 650cc in a 500 frame.
Days past lol
Now drive a more seddate vehicle = a VW T25 water cooled camper converted to run dual fuel with LPG.
Shown my bloody age again

Finally gave all my bike gear away this summer after 20 years of riding and many overland adventures in foreign parts - it was an emotional moment.
If I could afford to have a nice old bike tucked away just for those three days a year when it's not too hot, not too cold, not wet, then that'd be different. I think that swapping temperamental motorbikes for a Corsa is what they call 'growing up' - roll on mid-life crisis!
Go and get one, come the spring and summer you will love it.
I did by bike test as a mid liofe thing and have a Honda Blackbird now, it is a phenominal feeling to ride them
Go and do it now!!

I became a biker about 6 years ago and not because of a MLC, it was because I got pissed off waiting for trains that did not arrive and , if they did, were so crowded that you couldnt get on them.
Last year went touring down the West coast of France and through Spain to Puerto Banus and back through - will be doing a few Moto GPs this year as well.
Got a propoer bike as well LT1200.
Driving to La Rochelle in a few weeks time. Cant wait.

I may do th france thing in May over the bank holiday weekend.
So Steve the moral of the story is... do the test now, then you will be ready to buy a bike and enjoy the spring, summer autumn and better days of next winter.

steve x

It is a bit too cold even for me.
The bike is snug in my unit, all polished. Not taking it out and getting it dirty. lol
Mine is going cheap and it is a big bugger too.
Had to sell my wonderful Ducati a couple of months ago..*sigh* broke my heart. sad The bloody French government don't like people having bikes with more than 105 hp... 600 hp Ferraris are fine however... and the cost to make it go slow...4500 euros.. and the second word used was 'off'
Get out there and doooooo it!! The sign of a happy biker??.. dead flies on his teeth.
Fortunately, work means that sometimes I'm sat on a motorbike with instructions to 'go for it'... oh.. ok.. if you want...

Driving to La Rochelle in a few weeks time. Cant wait.

Kazsc, we aren't a million miles away from La Rochelle if you are touring around and fancy a cuppa?? Biker friendly!! biggrin
Might just take you up on that offer - contact you nearer the trip
thanks
do it nows the best time to buy a bike the motorcycle show is on at excel go along sit on them all
I would post a pic of my other baby but I dont know how to insert a photo. Any help out there?
Steve
I think this needs to be stuck somewhere on the forums page as everyone ends up asking this at some point!!! confused (ahem.. including us..)
You need to find a website to host your piccies...photobucket, imageshak or someone of a similar nature. Upload your photos (check on the size and stuff) and then 'link' them into your forum posting..
Like most things.. easy once you've done it!
So I can blame this years holiday on Dek having a mid life crisis? dunno
Blooming wonderful
