In the light of day you can never tell, but as the sun lowers in the sky and its hazy beams are slowly dispersed by the ensuing darkness you just feel its there. The dreaded sensation you get when walking down the dark alley way on the way home in the dead of the night, completely irrational, but overwhelming in its force. You've walked the same route a hundred times before, but never once can you escape this feeling. You know you're going to be safe, but you can't run away from the nagging.
You can see the light of the street at the end of the horrific tunnel of darkness. Your breath! You can see your own breath, but its not cold out... You hear a noise from the alley way. Somewhere behind you. You turn your head quickly to look around and then turn back slowly with a slight, yet relieved, upturn in your mouth. Cats. Downtrodden, neglected, unwanted alley cats. No matter, you still pick up the pace, almost a canter as you see the light growing larger in front of you.
Finally, as you reach the end of the alley way and turn into the relative safety of the weary, orange light, you let yourself breathe a long, heavy sigh. You knew it was fine, but you still couldn't escape the feeling. You put the key in your front door and turn it hastily.
You're fine. You home. You're safe. You light the fire and and draw the curtains. Soon, you're sat in front of the hot glowing fire, relaxing, not a care in the world...
Your Breath! You can still see your own breath! It must be at least 80 degrees in here, but you can still see you own breath!
"Do you think this sucker saw us coming?"
"I don't give a flying f..."
"It don't feel right, y'know, sneaking up on 'im in an alley."
"Just get the f***in' money and lets get outa here. This place give me the f***in' creeps."
"Whadd'ya s'ppose he was thinking of?"
"How the f*** would I know? The f***ing light at the end of the tunnel for all I care! Now, let's get the f*** outa here!!!"
    confused :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :?
