My mum lives in the USA(lucky girl).
I have just realised I miss her very much.
When she lived in england I used to see her about once a week and she would always make a fuss, am I eating properly(i'm 6ft and 18 stone!), do I want some dinner, do I need any washing done etc etc. When I used to go home she always gave me a bag of goodies, cakes, sweets and toiletries. It's strange not being able to pop over to see her and get spoilt. I talk to her on the phone about 3-4 times a week, which more than when she lived in england!.
Don't know why i'm writing this, I guess it's because iv'e had a bad week and I used to be able to go round mum's and have a chat with her, some dinner and stay the night in my old bedroom.
Funny how we are all kids really, and mums the first person we turn to if we need help.
On a lighter note, i'm going out there in january with my niece, and my mum does'nt know, so it's going to be a big surprise!.
Pah... MY mum is better than YOUR mum coz MY mum lives in Barbados
& guess where I'm goin for my hols in October! :bounce:
So there! flipa
My mum was the last person I would think of turning too for help, but for some reason she sent me a fat cheque out of the blue three weeks after my boiler went tilt!
 Her excuse was she had a feeling I would need it & put it to good use!
I just hope ffs that's the limit to her physic powers! redface
:inlove: I love you mummy :inlove:
Browning, I have this uncontrollable urge to do the :therethere: thing (in an unpatronising way)
stop it ffs, you're making me go all mother-hen lol redface
I'm on the other end of this from you guys though I'm sure my son feels the same as you.
My eldest lives in Sweden and has been there for a year now. I haven't seen him since he moved but we chat on the phone every week. I miss him so much at times
When me and hubby split last year, he wanted to hop on the first plane back to be with me ( bless :inlove: )
He's coming home for 3 weeks over Christmas and I can't wait :bounce:
We Mums may spoil, nag and sometimes smother you boys but it's only because we love you redface
Make the most of your parents while they're here. I was very much a Daddy's girl and I lost him 3 years ago. I still miss him every day

Bloody mothers can also put the fear of god into you.
My wife and mum are the only ones who dont use a cut down version of my name. Whenever anyone does it sends a shiver down my spine!

Aw, :therethere:
I'll be eating chocolate cake on 1st Sept, in honour of my late hubby.
My Mum's more of a friend than anything else to me which I think is how it should be, although she does still put her arm out infront of me to stop me crossing the road when we go to town. She's 5'1", it's so cute.

My heart is in my mouth...... heres to all we love and miss xxx
I lost my Mum last year, never expected it to affect me like it did or realise quite how much I was still her child. Your whole world just stops......
It`s quite remarkable how we as "intelligent people" never seem to appreciate or place the importance we should on things of real value until they`re taken from us.
i lost my mum a few years back. We never realy got on and i left home at quite an early age.
She was a great attention seeker and this caused lots of problems along the way but ....................when she realy did get ill with cancer i ended up nursing her, we had lots more time to chat and i began to understand her. We were becomeing great freinds and then she died  I miss her terribly still and if she had had access to the 'swinging' community i think she woulda had great fun bless her biggrin
so here's to mums everywhere

I'm feeling a little home sick for a time and place that no longer excists, I often wonder why - as a species - we feel loss so srongly, but the depth of our loss only reflects the depth of the feeling. And so today I feel blessed.
