Hi i just wondered if anyone has had or got a mobile phone on the 3 network? my contract has run out and I have been looking into a new one. 3 seems to be doing some really good deals but when i have spoke to other networks they seem to try and put me off ( which I know they are going to ) but one thing someone said if they can offer such a good deal that no one else can...........why????
hope someone can help me in my quest for a new mobile lol
sorry I know its not a swinging post
Hi, although they have some pretty good deals, I wouldn't touch them again, the coverage isn't so good and most phones are like 'great big bricks' lol
I wouldn't go past O2 now.
Hi I use to work for Phones 4 u so worked with all the networks there are some great deals on all networks it just depends what your looking for minites, text, phone, signal each network will try and put you off the other 3 is fine but I found the customer service was rubbish but thats only if you have a problem what are you looking for in a network? and why you like 3?
I'm sure I can help.

well at the moment im with vodafone and my signal is ok but not great, ive just got my phone bill and im using more texts than I have in my allowance, 3 seems good as theres a deal with 1100 to use as minutes or texts so it gives you the flexiblitly, ok the phones arnt great but there is a phone I like Nokia 6500 slide i also like the LG viewity silver.
Ive heard 3 customer services are based in India, is this true?
Good post I am looking for a new mobile too!
I find it all confusing!
I am on pay as you go at present paying about £30 a month I know I can get a contract for this price but I don't want to sign into a contract.
Are there any other type deals out there?
I would like more free talk time to texts!
I am sure someone can help!

but they have shops in England too ya know,ya don't av to travel to India  ...............
you really can be blonde sometimes rolleyes
bolt
Yes TabbynTina all there call centers are not in the UK, if all your looking for is a way to use more text one month and more minites another month but want to be able to speak to someone that talks english why not try T-mobile they do some thing call 'flex' it works like credit for £35 a month you will get £180 of credit every month to use on text, minits and pictures messages, plus they have a better choise of phones.
Well Theladyisaminx if you like the phone you have got at the moment why not go for a 'sim only' deal it is a contract but unlike a normal contract you can cancelle after one month orange is doing a good one at the moment 500min unlimited text for £30 a month or T-mobile have a contract called 'you fix' this is a fixed monthly charge and when your credit has gone you have to top it up so you no where you are.
Hope this helps you both if this isnt what your after I'm sure I can help futher.

Be warned.
O2 run their highstreet shops and internet sales as separate businesses. The shops deals are nowhere near as good as online. And you can't swap between them mid-contract. If you want to go to O2 use the online shop. I don't know if it's the same for others.
Ye most the networks keep there best deals on line we use to have lots of people come in seeing if we could match the online deals and we never could.

I don't get that at all. It's the same company - or should be. Imagine if Asda charged half the price for food ordered online to what it charged in the shop. Doesn't make sense.
Well it all depends what you want online you will get the phone you want at the price you want most of the time but in the store you could have cash back or free bits or both so it all depends what your after best thing to do is shop around when I got my phone I thought I was getting a good deal but the phone its self is shit and the network isnt great but its ok for the time being I went with that network because the customer service are always great lol

Yep quite right, my deal is online and I can only deal online with bills etc., and changing plans.
Im with vodaphone and when I came to renew my contract I looked at the deal they were offering me versus the online deals and the one that they were offering me was pants in comparision. I contacted customer service and explained what I wanted they said they couldn`t match it, I just mentioned that if they couldn`t offer me the deal I wanted I would find a company that would. Hey presto the deal I wanted and a nice new shiney phone delivered 24hrs later.
I did the same with 02. my old contract was £25 a month for 75 mins and 50 txts, when i renewed i got 400 mins and 500 txt for £15 a month. You just have to haggle!!

Hi Lyns
I have spoken to vodafone today asking what deals they will do me as tabby also has his phone with them ( but contract no up yet) they did say they wouldnt be able to get anywhere near what 3 was offering ( 1100 to use as mins or text for £20 versus what I get now which is £20 for 125 mins + 250 texts although I do get stop tthe clock)
anyway they told me to go and look at some phones I like and ring them back tomorow and they will see what they can do
We both have contracts with 3 and have decent Sony Ericson phones (both have different models). Previously I have been with Orange for years and he was with T-Mobile, but we could not beat the 18 month deals on 3 (1100 mins/texts for £20 plus 300 3 to 3 mins).
We have no problems with the phones, no problems with the service and we did have to query something with them and did not go through to a call centre in India (well, the person we dealt with had a London accent).
Coverage has been brilliant, even in the middle of no where and so far we would highly recomend them. This is the second time we have been with them and the only reason we left last time was because my works mobile was with T-Mobile and I had free calls to the same network. They have definately improved their coverage and service since the last time we were with them.

I have just been speaking to one of tabby's friends and he is on 3 and he has never had a problem either, he did say coverage isnt brilliant......but mine isnt either on vadafone.
I do know that the type of phone can make a difference too, I know 3 people who live in the same house all on Orange but 1 of them has a samsung and her signal is rubbish with sister with sony erricson has full signal, she signed up to an 18 mnth contract with Orange and they wont do anything about it so she is now using her contract simcard in a pay as you go phone.
Thanks for all your coments I think I will go for the offer and phones for U say they will even buy my last months contract as I have to give a months notice
I can understand people not wanting to deal with call centres based in India due to the communication problem. However, some English people can't even speak English properly - that's even worse. confused
Just a thought I think you get 14 days to return the phone if you are unhappy with it. (I did with vodaphone)
3 have a 0 day returns on all there products.
(which is shit)
Virgin mobile 300 texts 300 mins £10 a month sim card only though you have to provide handset.
ye the sim only deals are great 500min unlimited text with orange for £30 which is fab.
ive got my last 2 phones from fantastic deals but you have to redeem vouchers at regular intervals which is a lot of hassle but very cheap
but if you miss one voucher the others are cancelled and then its exspensive
if your fairly well organised you cant beat there prices and its a subsidary of car phone whare house
so should be secure

Ive read the small print on a few phone websites and you do have a 14 day money back guarentee only if you dont make or recive a call or text!!
I've been with 3 for years with no problems. I get 750 minutes and 150 texts per month for £18, with a Nokia E65 which I'm very happy with. I think if you talk to enough people you'll get good and bad things said about most mobile companies.
When my last phone got damaged the only reason I didn't send it back to get it repaired was I didn't want them finding what was in the memory lol
H.x
i have been on 3 for a few years and have this year converted mrs2 over from orange, i was previously with t-mobile. both find coverage is better for us in our area, our bills are cheaper, yes call centres are in india but that seems to be the norm with virtually everything now.
well i,m with o2 threatened to leave and they came up with a nokia n95 free and 400 mins and 500 texts for
£20 , so i think i'll stay with them for the time being

i had a contract phone last year from the 02 shop and only had it about a week then gave it back under the 14 day cooling off agreement. so long as the phones in the same condition as you got it and all boxed up with the accesories they will cancel the contract even though i had made calls and sent texts on it.
I used to have a mobile phone on 3 contract and they a total rip off they take the money out your bank account every 4 weeks which is 13 times a year yet top your phone up on, i think it was the 23rd or somethink like that, of each month which is only 12 times a year, so your paying for 13 (four week month) a year but only getting topped up 12 times because they top you up every calendar month, not a very good deal in my book confused
