I am really hoping this doesn't get me banned.
But having read the last few posts that have been locked, there seems to have been a fundemental shift in the way the mods are locking posts. I may be mistaken, but it seems anything critical of what is going on in this site is locked.
Lee of gingerjolee made a very valid point. The post was then locked.
A member was apparentl;y banned, but then after contacting admin he was unbanned. His opening line was "i have paid my £50" which leads to the point that do paying members here have more lateral than us regulars?
But what i am really saying is this - that SH isn't what we know. Most of us regulars, some bloody good people, hardly touch this site with a barge pole now. This entire forum is dying. The people who held this site together have been left high and dry and don't even know how the Moderators will react.
Personally, I am sick of it. I am only a member for one reason, and I have stated that elsewhere. But presuming at least a couple of Mods see this, before it is dragged down, why are you Modding in here? This site ISN'T anything remotely like it was, any simpleton can spot it. WHO are you modding for? Because one cursory look at the names logged in shows you no one you recognise.
To me , to be 100% honest. I thought you lot had more backbone. If you want to Mod on a site this means dealing with and possibly being over-ruled because the person you banned has paid money, then , i guess thats what you are happy with.
For the rest of us, who have moved on elsewhere, I'll just say this: the Mods who aren't modding on this site have a better grip of reality.
Yep, this is a moan. Yep you can lock it for that reason, because that seems to be the common currency these days. But I hope you don't.

Well Postie, after reading some of the threads on here, I totally agree with you.
We all know that the site has gone down hill, (well actually its actually at the bottom of the hill), and no matter how much we (the original members - non-paying ones) whinge, moan or shout off, it isnt going to change a bloody thing and it is just going to get worse, and this is proven by the fact that the administrators have allowed this guy back in, just casue he pays.
Yes, this site has gone downhill...................and yes you hardly ever see any of the old regulars in here any more.................and surely the Admin team have noticed this.
What they may not have appreciated is that the very vast majority of members on here are single guys looking for couples or single females....and if we all get pissed off and leave, how long is it going to be before the single guys start asking for their money back because the only people on here are male? If the admin team have got any brains at all they should be working hard to keep the couples and females happy and here. If the Mods aren't allowed to do their jobs and deal with the single guys who are upsetting the applecart, then they might just as well close this site now.................because it will die anyway.
Good point Lissa.... the only problem is, is that the single guys you refer to will have to pay their £50 (or whatever it is) to find out there's only single guys here.... so the bank manager will be happy... job done confused
Hi Postie totally agree with your points on site. Hardly any names I recognise. Keep signing in hoping things will pick up ( always been optimistic) hoping it is just folks getting used to change. If you guys have moved on can you let me know where. Getting serious withdrawal symptoms.
 xxx
New owners = New rules
I guess there has been a shift in posting policy, plus there are things going on that none of us know about and are not in any position to comment about
SC
Well even in the short time we've been here we have noticed a downward spiral.... maybe people think we are part of this who knows wink
The forums used to keep us entertained for hours at a time reading the thought provoking and sometimes just damn right funny posts, now you can skim through the new posts in 5mins.
I say maybe the dust just needs to settle a bit longer hopefully before the site picks up to what it was..maybe people are just upset about the takeover of what fundamentally you guys made. hopefully! rolleyes
But the standard of the new people joining also needs to be looked at too.... 370 odd thousand single guys 2,000 single fems and 200 couples doesn't add up biggrin . , i even had to report an add the other day saying anything goes... even animals!!!!!..... Maybe they have to be choosy about who joins not just let anyone in just to boost the bank balance because in the long run it will just kill the site.
Ok rant over :-)
take care and happy new year to all xx
We used to be able to come on here Chatroom or Forum and have a bloody good laugh....
Where is it now???? rolleyes
Like it was pointed out b4... Now when we log in... we are lucky to even see anybody on here who we know!!!!
You log in the chatroom.... and it is is an endless list of single guys whispering you asking to W**K off to you on cam or meet that nite..... yeh, at the last some have the decency to ask... but for me... its not what i want.
Im a single Fem...I wanna chat and get along with some1 b4 they come near me....
Its b*****ks
To me... all the owners of this site have done is to give a free ride to all the single blokes who arn't really Swingers... I mean, do we ever see any of them at any of our gatherings?
End of the day.... the owners of this site are now laughing at us... They dont care what we say... what we want.... coz they know when our year is over...we not gonna pay!!
they just want the single guys £

Yep, this is a moan.

It is called choice. It is their choice to continue to mod here.
Backbone does not come in to it. Who is the better person:
A - The person who throws their hands up in the air and runs from the challenge of change.
B - The person who stands back, looks at what is happening and then at least tries to influence the change.
I would question what your grip on 'reality' is based on - as you have a habit of spouting opinions which are somewhat shallow of substance yet appear to be a brownie point subject.
Yes this site has changed. It is not what it was because the people have changed and yes there is a lot of pants posted on here (this thread included) but that has nothing - NOTHING - to do with the backbone and grip on 'reality' of the mods who still CHOOSE to give some of their time to mod here.
Moaning is easy - all simpletons can manage it. Being constructive requires some deeper thought.

What she said

Simply not true. Plenty of people have been banned from the photo ads for breaking the rules and not been unbanned cos they pay. It may have been that the ban imposed was inappropriate?
At least some of us are STILL trying to make things better and/or back to the SH we all loved. Not just jumping ship and then sending back moaning messages. It may be that things never improve but let each person decide to leave for themselves. I'm not a sheep. My own personal views on what is happening here have been made very clear to the new site owners and won't be made public.
And what does 'more lateral' mean??? dunno :dunno:
rolleyes
there is not doubting that the site has gone downhill.....which is a shame because the resource that we had before when most of us were new no longer exists...it is a shell of it's former glories...
I would love the new owners to put their hands up and say they got it wrong over the chatroom and the way it was implemented... but to be honest i expect that to happen about 5 seconds before hell freezes over.....
the whole ethos feels as if it has gone from "swinging" site... to "sex" site....
i would take exception though to michael macca's last paragraph though... I don't think the standard of the new posters has particually gone done,I think it is more a misunderstanding/misconception of what the forum is/was....
there was a great devide between the forum and the ads before, and with the single login......it had blurred the lines, and not necessarily for the better, the weight of the people who just used the ad's is greater than those of us who just used the forums/chatroom....... and under that weight the old chatoom users buckled and went... and a lot of the forum users upped sticks.....
It has basically become what the photo ad people want it to be.......which is a shame because the diversity that was there has gone....

All of that may be true - but.....
What has it got to do with postie's claim that mods who choose to continue to mod here have no backbone, a poor grip on 'reality' and the implied label of 'lackeys'?
I think 'NAFF-ALL" is the answer you may be searching for.

thank for that.......
it is because i was thinking of what to write and actually wrote it all down on paper first.. that i forgot a bit...
" postie... as much as i love and respect you.....I think you are bang out of order to question the mods and to call them lackies...... as i could call into question certain things regarding your credentials on other sites....."
but thanks for pointing out my mistakes and being so quick to jump on them.....
remind me to jump on yours sometime.....
It saddens me to see how we all seem to turning on each other

It does a lot more than sadden me Dave.

I think you might be well advised to give this a rest Postie - whatever the rights and wrongs of the site changes they have happened, continueing to moan in here smacks of sour grapes and having an axe to grind. Sorry mate but it is how it seems to me. cool
OK the sites been sold and things will never be the same....but its also what you make of it....come on we can still make something good out of this!!

Yes come on guys we need to stick together ...........lots of us agree that the site has gone downhill..............but we need to support each other & hang in there in the hope that things will improve

No, rockets have strength and solidity - we're just spineless so it'll have to be a SH jellyfish instead.

I cant argue with you Postie, not do I want to. I'm still here, albeit fairly intermittantly because although the vast majority of regs have moved on, I see, amongst the many many 'quick-shag havent got a clue about 'swinging' type people, that there are still folk left here trying to tread water, and new blood coming onto the site who are genuine and need advice and support sometimes. There also many who need kicking into touch!
Perhaps if everyone hadnt bailed so quickly, we could have moderated and kept this under control - but, what actually happened was that the vast majority of those with experience, 'standing' and 'respect' buggered off elsewhere leaving less than a handful of 'regulars' to take on the challenge. Now it may well be that we're fighting a losing battle, but I do like a challenge! As it is now, there are a few Mods and a handful of regs trying very hard to make welcome those who are genuine, and 'police' those who're not, and maybe give the influx of newcomers some guidance and education. :jagsatwork:  smackbottom :welcome:
This is a bit of a nonsense post as i'm not talking about your original post re the Mods specifically.....but I think I understand why some stay. biggrin
what pains me more than the demise of SH as we knew it, is what others have hit on:

I cant say that I'm optimistic that things will improve - but aside from that and sadder still is the fact that this 'community' is now fragmented over 3 different sites, and some people are still bickering and sniping at each other!

Well saidf Darkfire, I agree. I'm still around in here and hoping for an improvement.

Thanks Mike. As it stands I'm currently registered and posting over the 3 sites, and I'll admit that SH is one of my lesser priorities - but, have chatted to many 'noobs' here over the Xmas period (and flamed a few too  ) and there are genuine folk who appreciate a little site 'guidance'. While ever they're here, I feel there's a way I can 'help'.
I dont think the site would be in the mess it is now if everyone else had done the same and not left just the handful of mods to try and control this mess on their own..... but then I also understand that most of us are/were here for fun, and right now SH isnt fun, its bloody hard work - and thats from someone who isnt a Mod! wink

How can you agree and then say the mods that are here are trying to help? dunno
i was unsure as to comment on this thread or not,
( so ill probally type all this then come back and edit and delete it , pmsl)
ok, yes the site has changed, but in what way??? ok the layout is different, yes there are some new aspects, i do not use the chat room so cannot comment on that.
im one for hating change, i pray that microsoft will never bring out a new windows cuse i hate even that. but ive lived with change, moaned a bit, but watch the change, ride the course and things will settle down.
im staying put for the mo, if the new owners start charging me then i will have no choice to leave, this is for various reasons, 1. i cant afford it, 2. umm im to tight to ever start paying for a web site membership.
there will always be a influx of new members, i can only say this would happen paid or unpaid, just ignore the knobs, welcome the friendly and until im told off for saying my piece by offending a paid member then its ok with me.
dont look at everything negative, for every 50 idiots if theres one great couple or singleton who make's it through then welcome that fact.
the MODS are doing a fantastic job, they have stayed around, put up with alot of crap, and are coping so well with the massive growth in numbers that they should only recieve praise.
standing by something they value is a great quality.
ok sorry that is probally a load of waffle, but please dont slate the mods.

Someone's already said what I think - no need to fall out amongst ourselves. Nobody is being asked to pledge allegiance to one site or another. I'm quite happy to flit between three sites at the moment; to ban someone for doing that would be very juvenile and they have already said they aren't in direct competition with one another.
SH is still my first port of call, until I am asked to pay for it.
