It's doctors who have ethical rules about having intimate relationships with patients which can lead them to being struck off the medical register. I'm not sure it's actually against the law of the land. GMC/BMA would certainly not be happy!!

You are right it's not against the law of the land but all medical professionals have ethical codes about shagging patients and several dentists have, in recent years, been prosecuted for 'taking advantage' of patients whilst in their care. Of course, this wasn't the case here but, I think, you will find that if the information about 'sex in a surgery' came to light the dentists professional association would take quite a dim view.
Kate, Please believe me that I am not being judgemental about you, but it worries me that there are professionals who will take advantage of patients. It is not a problem if you had met said dentist entirely socially, and then went back to his dental chair (fab scenario) but if you had been patient first even if some time before, then that is professional misconduct even if you were an entirely willing consensual partner

Agreed, best not to worry about every single post but I think we will all comment on things that interest us, in some way or another? That's the good thing about this being an open forum it's a good exchange of opinions where we can have fun but also, at times, hopefully, discuss sensible topics too?
On the dentist thing though, as you say, it is their problem really just thinking aloud because it would be awful if someone who knew Kate picked up on this and her (or more likely) her ex-dentist, got into trouble :shock:
