We'd put:
1. Trainspotting.
2. Dirty dancing.
3. Rocky IV
4. Stars wars (and other film where Williams did the sound track i.e Harry potter and Jurassic park!)
5. Various James Bond Themes such as 'nobody does it better' and 'all time high' the theme to octopussy!
But as you know we're made on the old 80's stuff.
Nearly forgot the classic:
"We're having a gang bang, we're having a ball" from our very own...
My favourite soundtrack from being a teenager is Dirty Dancing and the all time classic is Grease:-
".. your the one that I want, ..... shoop shoop shoop honey ..."
I love
Saturday Night Fever - More than a woman makes me go all weak at the knees.....
Dirty Dancing
The Breakfast Club/ St Elmos Fire / About Last Night - all the 80's brat pack films.
I don't watch many films now, but the last soundtrack I bought for myself was For The Boys, I love Bette Midler.
you know i have so far managed to avoid watching grease and saturday night fever ..yay!!!!
what about crossroads..( no not the britney one!! the one with ralph macchio)
qaudraphenia would be number one although i cant spell it :!: :!:
The Lost Boys, Highlander, Pulp fiction, Pump up the Volume (for "Everybody Knows!"), The Wall (from start to finish!) Dirty Dancing (sad I know but loved) Top Gun (Even sadder), Footloose (In fact still love to watch the film occassionally too although outdated)
and I loved the soundtrack to Crocodile Dundee too!!
But then I like themes from films too!!! Braveheart theme, Gladiator, Get Carter, OHMSS (James bond film) loads of them!!! will probably add more when can think of them!
yeah yeah yeah Quadraphenia .. excellent.
Must say I like the Kill Bill soundtrack. I have to say though that it was the only thing I liked about it.
Ozzie
1. Romeo and Juliet. (Baz Luhman version)
2. Beauty and the Beast
3. Rocky Horror
4. Kill Bill vol 1
5. The Little Mermaid
Ok, I like Disney. Don't pick on me!
Wow - to find so many people are into my other favourite topic - movies!! God, I have died and gone to (swinging) heaven.
An often overlooked movie soundtrack is that from Natural Born Killers. At the time of its release, Q gave it 5 stars and said it was a benchmark for the future in the way it fused movie dialogue into the tracks. Some of the tracks arent everyone's cup of tea but the way in which the music complements the movie is cool.
My faves are probably Boogie Nights 1 and 2. Because like the film they switch from the happy'orgy' inspired feel of the 70s to the coke fueled AOR rock 80s. Have to say its my favourite movie aswell....hmmmm now there's a topic I am sure has been done before , but for the newbies like me - can we do it????????
