WARNING - PLEASE READ
A number of people have LOST their MSN ACCOUNT/PASSWORD recently while thinking they were talking to a known friend/contact on MSN. After refusing to chat on CAM the person then steals their MSN password by using a misleading link to share their photos.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update2: Another problem is that often people use the same username and password to other sites such as ebay, paypal etc.. Dont forget to change these too or risk the consequences!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update1: The Christmas card trick: If you receive a Xmas card which then asks for your MSN login name and password to VIEW - its a trick to obtain your password. WHY would the person receiving a CARD need to enter their own login and password to view !!!!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BE VERY WARY ABOUT ACCEPTING LINKS EVEN FROM PEOPLE YOU KNOW.
HERES HOW THE SCAM WORKS.
You think you are talking to someone you know on MSN
They send you a link to view their photos.
The link brings up a FAKE MSN login page.
You enter your LOGIN and PASSWORD on the FAKE page (identical to the MSN/ login page).
YOU JUST LOST YOUR MSN ACCOUNT !
The hacker is then free to use your MSN ACCOUNT / EMAIL to talk with your friends.....
It isn't just MSN, it is happening with too rolleyes

Always check the address bar, you'll be amazed at the difference in url's, most people dont bother looking if they see the " " or " " logo on the page that's just loaded, That's how l was caught out on "MySpace" you can always tell if it's genuine & real...If in doubt send the page to the legit company, they are more than happy to deal with the cloners.
Thanks for that Tyne, I'll make sure I pass that info onto my daughter also who uses MSN as often as she breathes!

the new IE 7 has a phishing filter which hopefully is meant to let the user know that the site you are opening is phishing. Download the new IE 7 and see if it helps. I have nt had any probs yet.
Or try this: ;-)
