I must admit I think this is a great thread and can see it as a useful reference for people.
I'd also be interested to know success rates from some of the regular chatroom users and photo ad users.
I can see how each area of this site has different pros & cons, but it something I haven't seen explored a great deal on the forum.

I am working on it
So far I think it is interesting to read how many people are believed to be at the munch and the % that the people feel they got to know and chatted to, along with the reasons for going to munches.
I think it will be useful for some of the "I am a munch virgin" folks to read to get a bit of balance. I am sure that sometimes when they read the thank you threads and see all of the "wheyyyy-heyyyy", "owww-errrr-musus" and "nudge-nudge - wink-wink" posts it gives a distorted impresion. This will still not be the full picture - but every bit of the puzzle helps.
When there are a reasonable number of responces I shall complie the stats and info for the lot.

Yes Hun...... I was too late thats all, Sarah has got us down on the reserve list!! Yep I'm holding my breath lol... Have also put it down for the Yorkshire Munch in June.. Time will tell.

i've been to 8 munches. i have munches to attend from now till christmas! so what? i've been to a couple of parties. i've swung with . . . . well . . . . about the exact right amount of people i'd care to swing with . . . . like i'm about to tell you lot, and give you numbers?????
do munches open up a whole world of possibilities . . . well yes!
do i go to munches expecting to open up a whole world of possibilities . . . well . . . no!!!!
i go to munches to meet and greet people i will not see from one year to the next! people i count as friends. whether or not i swing with them is completely irrelevant!
swinging with them has bugger all to do with it!
so . . . number of munches versus number of meets / potential meets . . . . is completely irrelevant . . . and i think any attempt to do some sort of statistical analysis thingumbob COMPLETELY misses the point!

How I hate to agree with him, cos it's so much more fun when I dont.... :grin: :rascal:
I do think he has a point. I don't like the implication that munches have become incidental to the plethora of afterparties and how many people you shag afterwards. Munches were started to get to know people in the lifestyle not to tick a list of who is next on the shag list. Each to their own, but its not why I go.
Personally, as an attendee of many munches, I won't be answering it either.
