id say i was a wall flower i think...apart from talking to the friends id made, i generally wouldnt have the gall to appraoch anyone i didnt know and no one ever approached me off the cuff like that either dunno

.......
But pre-Munch pondering, as I do (whilst working the list, checking out who I want to flirt with/maybe snog/chat to etc) and I was thinking when you go to a Munch are you a wallflower or do you work the room?
........

Wanna name names? Should I pack my lip balm and clean my teeth? biggrin <<< clean teeth. :lol2:

Wallflower here, sit quietly in a corner and dont speak to anyone unless Im spoken to first redface ........

diet coke with a citrus twist meets monitor moment.
I'm saying nothing. :gagged:
*moves away from NWC 'cos he's sure there's a lightning bolt with NWCs name on it on the way down* :uhoh:
As for me, I used to have a mingle and a good natter with anyone, but as I have to try to make people talk to me for a living and I'm very, very, very shy, I tend to sit around with old friends (I mean friends of old, not that everyone I know is decrepit and are past their use-by date :lol2: ) and just catch up.

Yep. :rascal:
Ummmm I dunno what I am... I have only been to a few, a couple have bad memories.. and that sorta put me off. Then I felt it was important to prove that worlass was real so I took her to one and had a lovely night with her there and with a lovely, lovely man that was allowing me to use him as a pole. wink
I suppose I am a wallflower but that is because I actually don't really enjoy making polite conversation and am not good at talking about the weather and stuff so I am fairly anti-social and prefer dancing and the music. My hearing is also none too brilliant and I can't actually hear very much when there is background music so struggle to hear what people are saying and although I can lip read I am only really good at it if I know the person well. (accents and things throw me) Sooooooo did I answer the question or did I just waffle and whinge ? dunno

I'm a wall flower :lol2:

I'm with PK on this one, just sit in the corner, never have a drink, never have a dance, never change clothes.
:bounce:
Funny wallflowers you lot :laughabove:
I will sit in a corner all on me own sipping a mineral water or two.
I certainly won't be outside smoking and talking people's heads off... and I definately DO NOT advertise in the toilets that I piss like a racehorse when I'm drunk cos I drink mineral water
lol
P.S. I can't wait!!! xx

Yes dear.....
Hmmm. I don't do the wallflower thing. Tend to talk to people I know already and look out for people who I haven't yet met but know will be there, just to say hello.

Ooo, can I play too please?
I tend to talk to people I know and people I'd like to know  I'm also crap at small talk with numpties but always try and be polite or get myself away from them before I say something bad confused
However, if you've got a good looking husband or boyfriend you'll see me go all giddy and silly - it doesn't happen very often but I'll be on brandy and babycham at Wigan (with a cherry) so who knows :rascal:

Yes, you do!
I tend to find someone I know and latch on to them for dear life looking I guess more of a wall nettle I guess would describe me.I do love badge watching though and putting faces to icons.

I am so glad there's someone else that has the same problem as poor hearing comes from lots of ear infections when I was a kid and being beaten up once which perforated my ear drum. Whenever there's lots of background noise I struggle to hear general conversation and I feel embarrased when I say pardon for the 5th time or ask the person next to me what was sai. It's a real social well I'll just have to feel my way around smile

The venue makes a difference for this - I much prefer a sound level where you can have a conversation and enjoy the music at the same time, rather than having to guess half the conversation.
The trouble with the LMU section is not all the posts have a location in their title. So unless you know the person who's posted it, it can be quite time-consuming to find something you can realistically request an invite for.
On Munch posts, they do.
But yes, I agree - sometimes people write "Miss Hard Body's Birthday Bash - will you be coming?" and don't give a location, the only thing you can do is check in their profile for their location - if they give it. Or ask them.

Depends on who the organisers are, but usually people like NWC will offer a "handholder" for newbies and she relies on oldies to volunteer their services.

Thanks Nola, and if there is anyone reading this who is a bit nervous about coming to Wigan, then please let me know straight away, as I do have a list of people who are more than willing to be 'hand holders' and show you round and introduce you to a few people.

I need a hand holder please.
I'll hold yours if you hold mine Essex! wink
