Get a nice heat pack - the one you boil then let cool and press a disc to activate the heating process. They are wonderful for such pains and will help you get rid of the pain quickly. As for your medication, it is known to cause sleepiness and I have used them in lieu of sleeping tablets at moments of crisis! tee hee
Hope you feel better soon!
hmm... I have a suggestion to go along with the gentle massage.
Herbalists and Natural Foods stores sell "Arnica Gel" this is a natural plant extract that is both a pain reliever and a healer. It also helps shorten the time bruises take to heal and disappear (added bonus!) I have used it before for two straight weeks without any side affects.
just thought I'd mention. Feel Better!
I'm quite willing to give her a nice massage, especially only problem is if i do that she'll bloody fall went to bed that early last night because she felt so knackered we had to go without sex,and she'd just bought a nice big cuccumber as well.
Lifes not fair.
Please people help her to feel more perky so she can enjoy some fun
I damaged my back just a couple of weeks ago. I saw a guy who uses a 'cupping' method, whereby he uses glasses cups that act like suction on your back. He also did a bit of acupuncture and within twenty minutes I wasn't cured, but I felt 95% sorted and within ten days I was back in the swing of things. One session cost £50, but at the time I would have paid double. It was worth it.

I think they are the Chinese Herbal Medicine guys in the shops dotted around the country. They offer cupping and acupuncture. Don't know if they are licensed though as a physio would be.
i do a lot of martial arts so i'm always injured ..... don't really take any drugs though .. and i have dodgy ankles, bashed hands, sore necks, bad legs etc etc
probably the best thing to do is rest the affect area....
also thought 2 weeks was a bit of a long time to be taking pain killers don't the packets normally recommend 3 days max
massage can be a bit dodgy unless your trained as well , i've had a few scary massages of ex girlfriends before ....
I advise just don't do anything for at least 3 days
do you work in an office . it might be some sort of RSI
hi claire
I think GPs aren't too brilliant with back pain. Last year I had a really nasty ache in my lower back which I knew had been caused when I twisted awkwardly while stretching on the bed (no naughtiness going on, i can assure you!). The GP prescribed ibuprofen, which i took on and off but stopped with the lethargy it caused, and I knew that the root of the problem wasn't being dealt with. I was recommended to see an osteopath down the road, who examined me, diagnosed the joint that had slipped out of place in less than a minute, and sorted it out in a jiffy. It was like a miracle - all of the pain was just gone - and if I'd not seen him, I'd still be in pain today.
Best of luck Claire - back pain can be murder - hope you get it sorted out.

Clare if i had been your doctor i would have had to have a closer examination of the area that was sore. Could you bend plzzzzzz :smitten: :P
