Yes I have its a gr8 one for introducing new bands and some oldies lol:::: take lots of fluids cos if its hot you get dehydrated and the stalls charge a fortune for drinks and food,
but I would recommend it and its local so if your bored you can just mosey down London road/ granby street and hit the bars

yeah we r local, very local smile
however i hate drinking in bars in town so wud stick with de mont and the music :)

Live for preference.
Decent stereo is an acceptable alternative.
Cant abide tinny headphones or worst of all PC speakers.
I like my headphones and portablemusic... that and a book go with me everywhere.
However I do enjoy live music and forget how many gig I went to in the eighties and early nineties.
I was lucky as a child also, as Led Zep used to use our garage to practice, Jon Bonhams drums needed somewhere to stay. The shed on the allotment was also used my Gilmore as a workshop to sew up the inflatable pig for a record sleeve. As he was doing this I was lucky enough to hear his writing attempts for the accompanying album. He was using a stylophone for the writing and a Buttoneer for the sewing.
lp
love live music as long as its at a good place like the hammy o and not wembley ect were you end up watching on a big screen , wots the point of that !
for home have just downloaded "spotify" and its just great ! next thing is to plug pc into the hi fi than this place will rock !
free bird here we come biggrin
small to medium size venues for me as a preferance.
The Hammersmith Odeon is about the top end as far as size is concerned. (although Motorhead there has to be the equivelant of a religious experience... not salvation mind you... not quite sure what to call it)
The old Marguee... fantastic
Just up the road, the Astoria, wonderfull.
Kentish Town (now Forum) ... just right.
lp
There was a chap playing the bag-pipes on the Wandsworth Bridge roundabout the other day.
Not something i've considered a venue before, but it has potential I guess.

Guess I'm kinda odd cos I don't like music, never been to a concert, wouldn't put a C.D. on. I do listen to music, can't avoid it, it's all around me, but wouldn't do it voluntarily.
I am addicted to music, I would go to gigs more often if I didn't have to work! My ipod is with me wherever I go, and the music on it makes the day go better.
Not listing everything, but currently I'm loving CSS, Santogold, Feist, Joan As Policewoman and Ladyhawke; among many others! cool

That's very interesting. Do you find music annoying, like there is something wrong with it?
I ask becasue I recently read about people with various forms of 'amusia'. In some caes it was acquired after a head injury but some were born with it. For some people music just sounded like a cacophony, others couldn't get into any rythm so it was annoying.

No not at all Foxylady, I can hear a song and think 'thats nice' but not beyond that. I listen to it at home because other family members have it on, but it does nothing for me. I know I can hear the right sounds and rhythems because I ain't that bad at dancing, but when I'm on my own and the environment is mine to control, I don't listen to it.
I love love love live music.
Love live bands, been going to gigs from 1979 and still go now,Have been to see a band the last 2 weekends and are going to a gig Wed night and one next Tue, keep music live lol
saw kasabian last nite at de montfort hall in leicester, was fantastic smile
they had 2 suport acts who were also very good :)
at times it was hard to remeber wether we were there to see live music or at a football match cus of the chants for city :)
and also to my amazement there were no qs for the ladies loos but a masive q for the gents !!!!
Live bands everytime, but I cannot stand arena gigs, and I've no desire whatsoever to go to a festival. Gem insisted on dragging me to see George Michael last year, and I have no idea if it was a good performance or not, cos from the middle of the pitch, it could have been anyone up there on the stage. If you have to use a video screen to see them, might as well be at home watching the video. If I can't see every note the guitarist plays, I'm not interested. Went to see The Aliens last thursday where I was no more than 5 feet from the band the whole gig, and the absolute best gig I've ever seen was The Verve playing to 200 people in a student union bar in Leeds some 16-17 years ago. smile
N x x x ;)
oh i love seeing bands live, and going to music festivals, you have to go to music festivals to experience the loos you havn't lived till you've smelt a fesitval loo after 4 days in the sun lol
i love live music in any place, festivals, arenas and smaller places too all different experiences but all good smile
de montfort hall has a great sound and isnt very big (hence kasabian playing 3 nites running in their home town) but iv seen so many great gigs there and love it :)
