must say i like the music topics on here
so im going nick one from jo whiley(what i have to point out has the sexist voice ever)
what tunes that for one reason or another have changed your life.
It's basically that one record that makes you say: "Without this, my life would be totally different".
So, it could be, "without this tune I would never have met my girlfriend…" then tell us how it all happened.
Or; "without this track I wouldn't have broken my leg, as I tried to break dance..."
Or; "without this tune I would never have got a job..." You get the idea!!
all thanks going out to sexy voice jo..i owe you one,or a few its up to you
look forward to reading your answers
We country lads are quiet unassuming types by nature: live and let live, walk away from trouble, can't be arsed with fashion and all the crap that modern society seems to value, like celebrity, fame, money, cars....so much pigeon shit on a wire fence. Here today : gone tomorrow. But, just occasionally, somebody pushes just a bit too far and my father's maxim of 'I shit on nobody: nobody shits on me' seems to kick in.
I remember a particular time when I was being 'put on' by some monied prat. Eventually, enough was enough, and I set my jaw and faced up to him. I remember that Tom Petty's 'I won't back down'kept running round my head. And, I did stand my ground, and the path of my life was altered; good on 'yer Tom Petty!
With no hesitation or doubt:
REM-Everybody Hurts.
Wouldn't be here if it weren't for that song.
Thanks Michael
The Old Wooden Cross, can't go into detail..... (choke!)
Chumbawumba - I get knocked down.... a strength giving song!!
plenty of others with meaning, but these are my main two.
nallers that one was great,,thanks for telling
Teen Spirit Nirvana always makes me get on with my life! biggrin
God, so many songs i could list here, inc REM, Everybody hurts (going to their concert next year).
Having had low periods in my life, i have often listened to music to lift my spirit and change my mood from low to upbeat.
Christina Aquilera's Fighter and Beautiful are two songs that mean a lot to me at the moment thou :sparring: :rose:
One that inspires me is by a group called WASP from the 80's rock era...called 'I wanna be somebody...'. It helps me when I feel I have got know where and would like to..
I have too many to list as the name implies i kind of like music and MANY people help me every day to feel better about my life. As the title implies it was, and is my greatest love....
all through my life different song mean different feelings and ,
but i am convinced the one song that changed or made an impact on my life would be
Little Red Rooster by the Stones.
and i still have not got a copy of it,
I can't say music has changed my life but certain tracks remind me of certain periods of time that I can remember.
Can't say anything this year is particularly memorable ... last year it had to be my Nan dying on Xmas Eve and the following morning listening to R kelly on next door's cd player (turn back the hands of time) ... still struggle listening to R Kelly now sad
I remember a friend lending me a few cassettes to take on holiday on year and it was very different to the music I was allowed to listen to (controlling ex) and that was kind of life changing because a lot of decisions were made on that holiday. And it's responsible for my liking rock/metal music today LOL.
