I've had a number of pm's in the last 2/3 weeks asking how she is doing so I'll update you all save me some effort.
Caz's first lot of chemo didn't work properly and so she's had to undergo a more intensive treatment ... the first lot was like a drip feed over two years to kill the leukaemia, this second round kills the cells in the bone marrow.
She became very very ill from it and suffered mild heart failure/haemorraghing which totally wore her out, and after a couple of weeks in hospital managed to overcome it all smile She had a bone marrow test last week and the news today is that it couldn't be better :) All her blood test results are wonderful and are the best they have been for possibly 6 months or so :) :) :)
She starts the next bout of chemo on Thursday and we repeat the 6 week wait/bone marrow test results and then we start the process of bone marrow transplantation. As previously I am urging people to consider blood donation and stem cell donation - you may not be able to help us but maybe another adult or child somewhere else and nothing is more rewarding than giving a gift of life.
She's looking good :) her hair didn't completely fall out and so she's still got some (just enough to make a small poytail with  ) although she just isn't bothered, and is getting spoiled rotten by her family (which is making her a brat at times but I gess she can be forgiven that ;) )
Thanks everyone for all your support ...
I sincerely hope all goes well.
Big hug to you all xx
Great news Calista, thanks for the update.
Here's to the continuing success of her treatment

Agreed with hearty concurrence! Just prior to seeing the new year in I had an ickle think about the year and your stepdaughter was in my thoughts at that time... Bigggg Hugggggggz!
Sorry to hear about your step daughter. I hope one day we can stop cancer before it starts so people do not have to go though all that treatment. My dad had radiation treatment for cancer when I was young and he is ok now.
Big hugs to you all and hope the rest of the treatment goes well to.
Glad to hear that she is doing well Calista, good luck with her next round of treatment, I hope she is fit and well and in remission soon xx

This is brilliant news... and i would like to point out (MINI HIJACK ALERT) that all the proceeds from the SH calendar are going towards Calista's stepdaughter to give her a little something special. So please please PLEASE try and find it in your hearts to donate a little something if at all possible - all donations are voluntary but we'd really like to make a difference.
Sorry for the plug, its fantastic news to hear she's not losing heart. xxxx
God I really did not want to open this one knowing it might have been bad news but that is so wonderful. Happy New Year btw kiss

Thanks Lou ... this is a little girl who wants for nothing so the money will either be going to the Ward at the hospital she's being treated or Sargent Cance Care - the charity who are supporting the family. Both have been wonderful ... Sargent for their support and the Ward, which is fantastic, and the staff. We'd rather other families/children benefitted that us directly.
