I am a naturist by choice and have practised naturism for many years, however, I draw the line at going naked in Supermarkets and public places, because of offending others, it isn't right to expose oneself to young children, old ladies or anyone who is embarrassed by nudity.
You will always get the idiot who will start masurbating in public if they see a naked woman, with the potential for uproar and public disorder, as there are always certain individuals who cannot restrain themselves and do not care how they upset other people.
One has to have laws to protect the general public from nincompoops, to stop behavoir which is reprehensible and abhorrent in certain circumstances, in other words, everyone has to suffer because of a stupid minority.

I think alot of the general public mistake naturism for being a sexual thing. I am not a naturist but I assume that 99% of naturists are not doing it for sexual reasons. The general public assume that whenever a person is naked they are doing it for some sort of sexual kick. This is not the case. This is where the confusion lies.
But to be honest naked walking through the centre of town I dont feel is accceptable however walking naked in the hills is. Its just about compromise. But as in all cases some people dont like to comprimise.
Naked hiking? What's the point?

I live in the west country and love to go hiking. I am originally from Austria and am a lifelong nudist. So, especially in the summer when it feels safe, I take off my shorts and my T-shirt and continue my walk in the nude. Normally, I see people coming from far away, so I put my stuff back on, and all is fine. On occasions, I was surprised by other walkers I did not see coming or who were resting in the shade. Most of the time, they were males, and some would make comments or have a giggle, but never any bad comments. Last summer, I happened to come across some mature couples, and twice, this developed into a very nice chat with them, with me standing in front of them while having a conversation with them. One lady clearly enjoyed what she saw and commented on this with her husband. She said that this was a very nice surprise and asked who the lucky lady was who was enjoying what she saw. As I replied that I was single at the moment and did not have a partner, she said that it was a shame and that she knew quite a few single or widowed friends of hers who would love to make this part of their lives. She asked me for my phone number, and I gave it to her, but I never heard anything further, and I never met them again when I was walking in the same area.

But I love to go hiking naked, and when I go back to my home country I always do it as well and enjoy one of the many naturist spas and mixed saunas that happily accept a single mature naked man and nobody thinks anything of it
