What'll you do when you get lonely
And nobody's waiting by your side?
You've been running and hiding much too long.
You know it's just your foolish pride.

Fame & fortune is a magnet
It can pull you far away from home
With a dream in your heart your never alone
Dreams turn into dust and blow away
And there you are without a friend
you pack your car and ride away

an underwater guy who controled the sea.
Got killed by two million pounds of sludge,
from New York, and New Joysey

This monkey's gone to heaven!
I totally forgot about the Pixies - great band :>
Here's an obscure one for you all though not by an obscure band, I might add - anyone gets this (without googling it) I'll be surprised and delighted... this is my favourite song.
Now it's the futile bitter feelings
That clutch you in the middle
You were never really given a chance
And the spite that jabs your mind
Hides a heart thats really warm and kind
And the pulse that races with
Each over inquisitive glance
You were always the outsider
And they set you up a childhood
To be just another cuddly toy
And the whisper in the street
When the street corner gossips meet
The woman on the fourth floor
He was such a happy boy
Try this one
Into the distance, a Ribbon of Black
Streched to the point of no turning back
a flight of fancy on a windswept field
Standing alone my senses reeled
or this one
hello?
Is there anybody in there?
Just nod if you can here me.
Is there anyone at home?

ah, ah... the one with a medal on the albumn cover...?
was it a medal?.. a predominantly black albumn cover, with some thing on it, maybe a medal...errrm
and as for the track title... dunno... hehe. Not much good at this am I?
lp
Ok, my last one was maybe too obscure - it's 'Her Imagination' by Soft Cell - a finer set of lyrics about transexualism you'll be hard pushed to find :>
I will add another - not so obscure, a top 10 hit in 1980, is a clue. Another clue is I have a synthpop obsession that extends beyond Soft Cell.
We are strong, we're unknown
We have time
And to you Im just
One of those boys
We are cold
Were not supposed to cry
But its all just a thought
So here am i

fun boy 3???
lol
Leeds Goth Couple - that tattoo on Mrs Leed's back.... wow.
Jaymar - no, not the Fun Boy 3, but I love them too. Terry Hall is one of the three famous people I want to marry - once marc Almond and Tricky have turned me down...

The starting is a bit like "love is a battlefield" by cannot remember whom tho! ?
Love Is A Battlefield... I think that's on the radio on my new 'Vice City Stories' game - I think that's Pat Benetar though could be wrong. Anyway, it's not the song the lyrics are from :> - I thought this one was easy!

Thankyou gothic punk... I think all the ink has affected my brain because I really have no idea what song it is!
Although, I wasnt even born in 1980. Thas my excuse and Im sticking to it! biggrin
Not even born in 1980 and you call yourself a goth? You should at least be claiming to have been born in 1801 like me...
I can tell you the song if no-one guesses soon...

biggrin I was never really into the 80's stuff. (im more of a cybergoth..... uv and glowsticks please!)
Go on, tell us the song.... im really impatient! biggrin
Cybergoth stuff, eh? Industrial noise? i am more into the flamboyant than the stompy, but have learned to live with the stompy glow-sticky music and the big boots and the plastic hair thing, and indeed, I quite enjoy a lot of it nowadays.
The song was 'We Are Glass' by Gary Numan - I could claim he invented the industrial scene but I would be lying. But the 80's synth thing really did influence that stuff the cyber people love lots - I like it all :>

Not sure about medal? I can't think of one off-hand. But they do have some weird covers! lol But these lyrics are from learning to fly on a momentary lapse of reason though I like the live recording on Pulse.

Ahem...
My heroes had the heart to lose their lives out on a limb
And all I remember is thinking, I want to be like them
Ever since I was little
------------------------------------------------------
You've been using me
I'm surprised you
Let me stay around you
One day I'm gonna lift the cover
And look inside your heart
We gotta level before we go
And tear this love apart
------------------------------------------------------
Oh sit there, oh count those raindrops
Oh, feel 'em falling down, oh honey all around you.
Honey don't you know it's time,
I feel it's time,
Somebody told you 'cause you got to know
That all you ever gonna have to count on
Or gonna wanna lean on
------------------------------------------------------
I was not listening anymore
Still you continued to affect me
I was not thinking anymore
Although I said I still was
I'd said "I don't want anymore"
Because of bad experience
But now I feel so different
