Naming toys

I have been told recently that someone has named their Dildo after 'me' and called it 'splendid'. That got me thinking about whether I have ever called any of my toys a name.
My Hitachi magic wand is called 'THE wand'
my glass dildos are called 'glass dildo' and 'the glass dildo for anal'.
my strap-on dildos are called 'the tiny anal one', 'THE dildo' and 'The Anal one'. When using them we would refer to them as 'my cock'.
mmmm we have other toys that we use less frequently and they are given equally 'descriptive' names rolleyes

with an ex her dildo was called by a man's name which I didn't really like. (I had a few hang ups about fucking a man, arguably nothing much has changed there!!)
I am intrigued, do people name their toys ?

Mine don't last long enough to get names.
That means one of two things : either I must get better quality toys or I must stop abusing them so badly. :giggle:

My toys are called Roger, Peter and Paul. They were named only to clarify which one was which, not to humanise or because they reminded me of anyone.

My first response would be to say that the reason for giving them men's names is that they were the first names that came into my mind. On reflection, because the toys are phallic shaped, they remind me of men, hence issuing them with a corresponding name that reflects their masculinity.
Calling a penis shaped toy Barbara, for me, would not be as equally meaningful.

My platinum rabbit is Roger and all my others are descriptive (the pink buzzy friend, the silver one etc). Roger was only cos i was describing what i was doing to a (ahem) friend in text messages and had to save space! :grin:

I have one called Disco Dick - named by Jacqueline Gold, not me! I had to have him as he was glittery and purple; I'm very fond of him though he's not very versatile!
I think that if penis-shaped things are to be named, I would always give them male names.
