Proud to be from Yorkshire and to be English in that order!
However nowerdays theres less about where your from I think the worlds a far more smaller place and people can up stiks and move to another place let alone another country as easy as ever!
There was a time when where you came from ment a gr8 deal but now i think its not so important and we all are starting to blend together.....
The world we live in is nothing like it was 20 15 or even 10 years ago!

Teenage pregnancies

Highest proportion of people receiving benefits
Crime
Worst education authority

You just like to feel superior!
lol
Well i'm Scottish and British in that order.
I'm from Fraserburgh.........not something i'm pround of since its got the worst reputation for heroin / smack / cocaine / drugs use in the whole of Scotland if not the UK ( a reputation thats not deserved tho since we don't see injecting users on the streets like you do in Edinburgh / Glasgow / Aberdeen ).
I've managed to go from a fisherman ( ok I stuck in at school got 9 O grades and then went to college to do Electronics ) to a Fishery Officer ( think policeman of the fishing industry ) to a Fisheries Scientist for 9 years working at the Marine Lab in Aberdeen earning over £30k a year ( where I had my accident thats left me desabled mad ). So i'm very pround of what i've managed to do in my short working life ( disabled at 31 pensioned off the civil service by 33............ confused ).
Davie cool

Even though I now live in the Midlands. I am proud to have been born a Brightonian.
Well i was born in Sutton Coldfield - which for those of you outside of the west midlands, is about 10 miles north of the centre of Birmingham. Of course this makes me a snob because i dont sound like the stereotypical Brummaaay. I am proud of what Birmingham used to stand for in the more industrial era, but would say I am shamed that every time Birmingham City and Aston Villa play each other, there is serious trouble.
otherwise, its a luvly place :-) come visit
well have to say one of my loves is Travel....and I have visited many far flung places like Argintina, Cuba, Cambodia, Vietnam and such like......but as Dorothy found out
There ain't no place like home.
I live in cannock in the midlands....and as it is where my friends and family are...its the best place inwhole world for me.
Well I am welsh and proud of it,
I live in a big city which has good parts and bad, but we are lucky to have
some of the most beautiful beaches in the uk.
I'm most proud of our national culture which was nearly destroyed but
it being resurected slowly.
We also have our problems with drugs, teenage pregnancy and all the
rest but the majority of people are decent and kind.
nice thread.

Never really felt 'British' until the last couple of years
I think I'm proud of my cup being half full cool ...
...and ashamed of the fact that it's half empty as well redface
Now as for what my "cup" represents...well that's another matter.

Isn't that the city that booted you out, for bringing it's standards down??? lol
Just bumping this up - 'cos I aint had my go yet!
Born and raised in NW London, to Irish parents, proud of my "Londoner" and Sotherner status, siblings apply and get UK passports, and me?.....I go and get meself an Irish passport ( and bloody proud of it too! )
For a long time - more or less from 10 yo to 20-ish - I was ashamed to be British or English or whatever. The turning point when I gained respect for England was England vs Holland, Euro 96 ( 4-1 ). Now I feel happy exploiting my dual nationality, and enjoying the pride I have in both.
