I need a hug....... sad
Yesterday I had to have an endoscopy and even though I had sedation it was still horrid. Today I feel half dead...like swimming through cottonwool and have a BIG pain in my throat and chesty bits......
I hate sitting here wasting a day feeling sorry for myself, but don't have the strength for much else.
So if anyone out there feels like giving me a hug.....I'd love it.

Oh oh poor girl, here, here! There's a cuddle, how does that feel? Shall I go make you a nice hot chocolate drink and bring you your favourite magazine whilst you lie on the sofa recovering from your bad experience?
PS: an endoscopy via your throat is better than an endoscopy via your bum... think about it and smile girl! biggrin
Very funny Tania, had one of those 2 months ago......true that was more embarrassing, but htis feels more uncomfortable now.
But thanks for your hugs, everyone.
Going back to bed now.....can't keep awake any longer

Big Hug to Bignetsuke bird & plenty of :therethere: :therethere: :therethere:
Eugh, I had one of those last month, was truly evil.
Gave me the option of an anaesthetic for it, but I wanted to escape that very day rather than being kept in overnight. Shortly after it started going in, I began to regret this thinking very, very much.
So, <hugs>
Least its over with now!

 When will you people ever learn? You don'ttrust docs to put you under anaesthesia in this country! God knows what they get up to whilst you are out. I mean think about it: what's the point of being careful intubating you when you are not likely to swing a fist at them?
Be alert, be very alert! :jagsatwork:

I take it you have a severe distrust of the medical profession then???
If you cant trust a doctor to take care of you who can you trust dunno

Yep, you are right! I have seen too many omissions and errors to be able to trust. My dad would have lived if the docs attending to him had any idea of CPR. He might have lived if the ambulance men had an equipped ambulance and knew how to use the equipment. He would have lived if I had taken control of the situation and given him a prohibited injection to the heart at the right moment and not been intimidated by the doctor who was supposed to know better. I would have gladly gone into prison if it would have saved my dad's life.
Of course my issues with the medical profession in this country are based on what I have seen/experienced. I find doctors here to be too arrogant. They are reluctant to talk plain to their patients, they are reluctant to involve patients in their care. To them we are all like small children best kept unaware. Having said that, I have come across some doctors who were different and treated me like an equal so perhaps things may be changing.
Not everyone has had the same experiences that you have had Tania but that doesn't give you the right to tell everyone not to trust ALL of the medical profession..... The doctors at George Eliot hospital in Nuneaton saved my husbands life just over 5 weeks ago..... If I had heard your advice prior to his heart attack and done what you said he wouldn't be here right now.....
Advice like you gave is dangerous and best kept to yourself to be honest...

Personally I admire ANY person that has chosen the medical profession. My day to day decisions at worst will result in someone not getting some money... I cannot comprehend how they can manage the pressure of making life and death decisions (or even good and bad health decisions) on a daily, hourly or minuitly basis......but I am bloody glad they do!!!
Obviously this statement excludes any wierdo doctors or nurses...blah blah...

Don't you start on me young lady!!!

Test Overview
Anoscopy, proctoscopy, and sigmoidoscopy tests allow a health professional to look inside the anus, rectum, and the lower part of the large intestine (colon) for abnormal growths (such as tumors or polyps), inflammation, bleeding, hemorrhoids, and other conditions (such as diverticulosis). See illustrations of a hemorrhoid and polyps.

You wish!!!! Are you sure you could handle me if I DID start on you.....
