in answer to your question. i have finished stripping the bedroom, and washed the walls down. i'm current over halfway through stripping the stairs and landing, which should be done today. tomorrow i'm getting the polyfilla out, cos i'm starting to get wrinkles, no i mean to fill in the holes, and then out comes the old sander. saturday will be the big day, when i get intimate with plumbing and attempt to help install a new central heating boiler. i'm really looking forward to that one!
so all in all a steady away day of pure male manly activities, interspersed with lots of tea, and some random uttershite on here!

I've been having problems with my central heating as well, had to buy a new programmer and valve motor.
Not sure if I need a new gas valve as well, still it's less expensive than buying a new boiler.
More bleeding expense :cry:

Having just attempted to have a hot bath for the third time since some ridiculous hour this morning (and stil not succeeeded)- I think I might just start begging for you to come and sort me out Neil!!! My hot water heater that is. Well - I think that's what I meant. Or did I?

shynewbie? i haven't had a bath since saturday, cos the stupid plumber capped the water off to the hot tank so we could remove it before he suddenly remembered a pressing appointment or something! and i usually have 2 a day! :sad: but i'll try and sort you out all the same if you don't mind manly smells.

It must be the national strike week for boilers this week! :shock: :shock: Mine packed in on Monday morning and I couldn't fix it until yesterday (was waiting for a spare part ) so had to do without hot water AND heating for 2 and a half days 
I did fix it myself though, thereby saving about £150 :smug:

Neil, when ya done with ya decorating mate my kitchen is is desparate need.
Poor hubby ..... stripped the kitchen walls a year ago ... kitted my kitchen and then uni started ... made a start last week and now can't carry on with it and I just haven't the heart to even mention it

I think I've finally found my calling! I could go round the homes of all SH members and service their boilers!! Dunno about the "plumbers clothes" I'm sure I can do better than that.... and I only really know about crappy combi boilers 
but I am something of an expert on them now having replaced the pump AND the air vent in mine.... and I've flushed the central heating system and added inhibitor to keep it in good working order (twice - the first time it all leaked out cos the air vent was fLucked but I hadn't realised beforehand)
Does all that make me sound as though I know what I'm talking about?? My rates are very reasonable ;)
(Notice how I didn't say I'm cheap? :lol2

Needed a bit of finishing off - plinths and cornices - but the joiner friend of a friend wants £200 so I'm going to try and do it myself :shock: I'll see how I get on and then may offer my services as a plumber and kitchen fitter. See above about rates - specials for good friends ;)
And I'm also a dab hand at flat pack furnishings :P I'm SO wasted in my job *sigh*

LOL Angel .... well i've lived with it half fitted, untiled and undecorated for a year .... I doubt it is gonna kill me to leave it .... I guess Morbius would flip if he came home to find me wrapped around the stepladders pasted to the floor :shock:
i've had one of these funky double (think american style) fridge freezers delivered ... bastard delivery men never told me they hadn't put the brake on ... tried to open the door and had this thing fly towards me :shock:
I'm not good with DIY I need a man about the house LOL ... not to do the work, just to keep me safe ROFL.
