new guy looking for advice

Hi Guys
I am new to this scene and only found out about this excelent site on Monday of this week.
My problem is that i am scared of making a complete pratt of myself and i fear that I am not going to be able to express my sincereity and the fact that i am 100% genuine.
I have been in the chatroom a few times but find it difficult to keep up with the flow at the moment (new to chatting too). I have palced an advert which has been viewed over 75 times already but no responses yet.
would like to hear from anybody even if its just for a chat etc as apart from looking for sex (arn't we all!) i would like to increase my circle of freinds
look forward to hearing from you guys and gals

I am currently going through the throes of collecting info to write a 'Help for Newbie' section to assist people like yourself get the best from the Site. In the meantime, join in, have a sense of humour, be polite and look on sex as a by-product, not the main aim. If you want advice on your ad, put a link on your next post and ask. People will be honest and sometimes brutal as to how good or bad it is, so roll with the punches! I have to say that ads by single guys do not get a very good response. You may get hundreds of views and still no contact.
Just have patience and join in. The more people know you, the better it gets. We were all newbies once!!
Any other questions, don't be afraid to ask in public or PM. Nobody bites TOO hard round here!!!

Nice of you to pop in. I wouldn't worry about making a complete pratt of yourself. As you can see no-one here seems to worry about doing that!!

That little sentence really stood out for me. I'ts imediately turned you from a 'font' into a normal person and so nice to know I'm not the only one to feel like that smile

Please don't turn into one of the 'let me ram this 8 inches up you f**k slut' brigade, which quite frankly scares the life outta me :uhoh: Also I can't imagine that attitude does much for the gaining friends bit either. Not that I can speak for anyone else as too new to all this myself, but can speak from a normal girl, with normal worries of not coming up to scratch point of view.

Hi Gazza,
I've been making a prat of myself on here for months and I'm still here, so don't worry about it wink

As the others have said, be polite, honest and friendly and you'll be fine.
Also consider going to one of the munches, then people will be sure you're genuine

Good to have you on board. As everyone else has said, making a prat of yourself is definitely allowed, indeed sometimes insisted upon.
Being a jerk is a different matter. Your opening post proves that you are no jerk. I hope you have fun and make lots of new friends. Join in with the fun on here and people will soon get to know you.
