No, you don't need a mentor. All you need is a bit of time to get used to the place and a liberal dab of common sense.What should you post - It depends on why you are here. The forum is a platform for chatting and getting to know people.
If you are here ONLY to make contact with people to have casual sex and you are not interested in getting to know them, then you should only reply to posts from women - and eventually couples - who are after the same thing.
If, on the other hand, you are interested in the wider social aspects of swinging, then reply to any post that interests you.
